What is on your bucket list

I have never had a bucket list nor plan to have one.
I have fully retired for 8 months and still enjoying having time to potter about lol!
I am lucky to be fit and healthy. I do some stretching and resistance exercises daily and swim 3 times a week.
I cannot really plan longish trips as I have an elderly relative living with me.
I have never really been adventurous or a risk taker and travel to most parts of the world doesn't interest me.
I will be happy to relax in my garden when the weather allows me to get it sorted.
I have two reunions planned this (one school one university) year, a trip to Ironbridge, a week in Cyprus and a 5 day trip to Malta. That is fine for me.
Some of the things on the lists above look expensive and are beyond my means.
I really miss my two dogs but do not want the responsibility of ownership again. I still walk in the forest and its not quite the same, but the main purpose is exercise not fun.3 -
I hope my earlier post didn't sound too grumpy lol. I was just being realistic and honest.
It is just that some retired folk give the impression that retirement is all about doing exactly want you want whenever want. Long lunches and lots of travel, always being busy. I think it can give the wrong impression and concern others, whose plans and daily retired life, may not seem as exciting as others say it should be.
Retirement living is unique to every individual. Retired lifestyle is influenced by finances, family responsibilities and personal priorities.
Retirement doesn't remove family responsibilities or day to day chores. Some routines have to be continued.
For me, retirement has allowed me more flexibility and time to do things (even ordinary everyday things) and that is pleasant enough.

Things on my bucket list: An "evening" with Johnny Depp dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow - (him, not me),
Represent Uk at Eurovision
Move to live in France
Appear as Nancy in Oliver in the West End.
All now unattainable sadly. Oh well - I guess I need to write a new bucket list.6 -

Thanks for your suggestions about the dogs but on balance I think my future will be dog free.I realised I really do prefer the lawn being green without any brown patches and the house being clean, tidy, with no dog hair! Plus of course clothes that stay dog hair free too.I also want to be able to go here and there without having to worry about the dogs.As for fostering or raising a guide dog puppy I would find giving them back far too emotional.
Once again though thanks for taking the time.4 -
Dogs..... far too much planning every time you want to go anywhere.....
And too much addition cost every foriegn holiday....
At least with my cats i can just grt my neigbour to come in twice a day and feed them.....0 -
When I had my dogs, paying for them to go into reputable and comfortable kennels (our local RSPCA one is excellent) was never a concern. I just used to worry about them! They more than paid back any monetary cost in sheer love and companionship! On some occasions relatives would happily house sit, which was the ideal solution. Also having two dogs going into kennels was easier for them as they still had each other. They always shared their kennel.2
