This solution works 100%!! We've struggled with and suffered with turning the radio on and off manually for some time, as well as having no washers and the A/C and rear heated screen buttons not working correctly. Didn't think to check the radio fuse as it was working, and was worried we'd have to locate the radio code which we didn't have. Changed the radio fuse and EVERYTHING came back to life including the cigarette lighter, and we didn't have to re-insert the radio code either.

Our local garage had spent a whole day looking for the fix to this problem, and Renault were going to charge us £50 just to investigate, and that's without even fixing anything!

Thanks so much everybody, especially andytd. Saved us a fortune in main dealer bills!

Longshot but I have factory fitted parking sensors that don't work.

Does anyone know where the fuse might be located. I have looked in both the interior fuse box by the glovebox and the engine fuse box. Took all the fuses out and all working ok.

    Any help appreciated.

I would start at the sensors themselves follow the wiring from bumper, boot, under rear seat, then down the driver side floor trim, into the fuse box and find if its been wired in right or split or frayed.

Ok thanks, will have a look. I founf the control module in the boot, but couldn't see any power going to it. It's in the same location as the alarm, which does have power to it...

There will also be a big difference if its an aftermarket sensor pack or a OEM factory fit one, aftermarket ones are spliced into the rear light panel loom and fitted like an amplifier, requiring switching wire (spliced rear reverse light signal cable), live and ground when a bulb pops (as the bulb is part of the circuit) the sensors don't work and same if the gearbox reverse light switch has blown you wont get any reverse lamps at all. where as OEM ones are not connected to the rear light loom its connected to the gearbox light switch circuit so if a bulb blows they operate normally if the gearbox reverse switch blows it wont work.

so hence when putting on the ignition but not starting it (where the dash lights are on) and selecting reverse, looking out the back and see if the both reverse lights are off then check the bulbs and the fuse if the bulbs and fuse are fine its the box switch (easy to replace this switch), the box switch acts a live switching wire for the OEM factory fit to turn the module on and off if theres no live power to the box when reverse is selected and ignition on (as above described) then there a break in the switching circuit.
  • please help if you can
I have a megane dynamique 2005 and recently I have been going through some serious problems. first of all the lights around my Ac are not working. but more importantly sometimes when I am driving the engine turn off and I can not do anything unless stop and take the key out and eventually after giving a few times try i manage to start the engine and drive off. at this time i can see the battery light is on however today I showed the battery to the guy at halford and he tested it and said your battery is fine.! also sometimes same thing happens and on the message board it says fuel injection error!! in the mornings i really struggle to start the car and it seems the battery is weak!
