If you've sent a package to the US with a declared value of a £1k . Then it's potentially stuck in US customs. What paperwork did you enclose ?
You do realise that you are only going to receive a store credit not a cash refund.0 -

Try it for yourself: enter dresses value £10000 -
I’ve just tried it for USA and it clearly shows this on the first page where you have to enter your details…

Hello OP
Have a read of this

For the cost of a stamp vs £1000 it's worth a letter before action.
Sorry if I've missed it but did the parcel leave the UK? I'm not sure it matters as they would be acting on Evri's behalf but I wonder if Evri would have any get out by claiming the US postal services lost it rather than them.

Yes it left the UK to go to the US. I used 'Evri International', which appears to be a different entity than Evri, as I've tried getting in touch with Evri CEO only to be told it's nothing to do with him (!!)

There's a consumer website that helps people fight back against courier companies who lose parcels and then don't fully refund the customer as the customer did not buy their 'insurance' to cover the full value. It's called consumeractiongroup and is a free service that's run by volunteers who provide guidance on the steps to take. There are many threads by people who have gone, or are going, through the process to reclaim back the full amounts owed by Evri and other couriers. Here's a link to the forum: https://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/183-postal-and-delivery-services/
