Cheery's path to fulfilment - finishing the DIY, looking after myself, appreciating the garden 🌻

I do like cows - as long as they're on the other side of a fence! 😂 One of ours looked like it was attempting to climb over a stile today 😮
Just a letter from the dentist threatening legal action 😠 VERY unimpressed. Apparently I owe them £236 and have been ignoring their many letters. Er, no.
They did impressions for dentures in January. I asked if there was anything to pay, they said to pay after treatment. They referred me to the dental hospital to have a tooth removed (can't fit the denture until that's out!) - and I am still on the waiting list
Which they know, because a few weeks ago I received a (slightly less) threatening letter saying I owed them £44 😠 I'd asked last time I was in if there was anything to pay, they'd said no. But apparently they forgot about a hygienist visit, so I paid £44 over the phone, asked AGAIN if there was anything to pay, and they said no - and now this.
YAWN. I don't resort to formal complaint letters very often but I will be on this occasion!9 -
Right spoke to them and they've made a note that I'm still on the hospital waiting list, and said I don't have to pay til after treatment is done. Which is what I assumed anyway.
Still going to write a letter, because this isn't the first time, the "many letters" they have apparently sent were a single text (and one letter that they said they sent, bit which I haven't received). YAWN.
Anyway, back on with work!9 -
Oh how ridiculous Cheery - it's been such a saga and they've hardly upheld their side of things from what I remember with many cancelled appointments. Agree about the letter because it's not nice to be accused of such things and if you were a little old lady or similar (for want of a better, but short way of putting it), you might be quite shaken by such a threatening letter.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Indeed. I think I've been more than understanding over the years, quite frankly!6

I also have cow-envy, especially after hearing that they ran over to see you! The nearest I can claim to that of late was the geese at the country park did exactly that as I approached them on Saturday - good job I'm not someone who gets intimidated by geese, as there was quite a crowd! I do love seeing our local cows out in the field though - it always feels like it's properly summer when he turns them out there!7 -

I've been doing a fair bit of musical stuff myself lately (not outside though, and mot wearing a kilt 😂). We have three performances coming up and I'm trying to be rather more proficient than I currently am. I'm getting there! My main problem is fretting 😂 which makes me tense, and then I struggle to play the stuff I KNOW I can play, let alone the stuff that is a stretch at the best of times 😂
Still, I am making progress. I've have been reading some useful and motivational books, talking to Mr Cheery, making some decent practice plans rather than just playing round in circles, and the last three days I've practiced about 90 mins a night 😮
Obviously I can't keep up that level of intensity! But the final concert is in about a month's time anyway, and I'm hoping things will settle down as I actually get better.
It's nice to do something that isn't work but that takes a lot of concentration, although with all that breathing it's a bit like a workout, and as I usually stand up to practice I end up quite tired! (Not entirely sure why i do stand up to practice as we don't stand up in either rehearsals or concerts... 🤔)
Anyway, lunch is packed for tomorrow, just making a smoothie for breakfast. I have a parking permit so free parking. Got a meeting at 9am so need to set off about 7.15, but bag is packed, clothes are ready, and my hair doesn't need washing, so all good 😊8 -
I’m betting you stand up because that’s how you were taught in lessons due to it being the best way to breathe! That’s very good practice discipline - well done!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Evening MSE chums, gosh I am tired today! Slept really badly last night, unusual for me. No idea what was going on, but I woke up several times. Got up to go to the loo at 4am (also very unusual for me!) And the water butt had been delivered!! No idea when - I'd looked out of the window late on in the evening before it went dark and I'm convinced it wasn't there. I usually notice vehicles coming down the drive, and the gate makes a noise when it opens - maybe it was teleported in?! Who knows.
So tired and quite useless today. Still not recovered from last week and feeling quite overwhelmed by my massive to do list and all the stuff I've put off while meeting the big deadlines 🙄 I did tick off a few things though, and I think that's going to be the order of this week, ticking off small things until the list feels more manageable.
Anyway. Heard today that a friend has been bitten badly by a dog 😮 He's alright, although has several stitches in his face. This is MSE relevant, as we booked tickets to see a performance he was doing at the weekend which has been cancelled - this should be refunded, but we also booked a non-refundable hotel. Need to decide whether to go to the hotel anyway for a night away (it's not anywhere remotely touristy) or postpone in case the event is rescheduled later. Need to decide in the next couple of days...10
