Cheery's path to fulfilment - finishing the DIY, looking after myself, appreciating the garden 🌻

Tis indeed Beanie, but it's in now! 😃🍾 Submitted at 9pm, which still counts as Friday 😂 did a final read through before I pressed submit, but not after I'd submitted - to late to do anything then!
Went for a walk up the drive for some fresh air. Cows in our field obviously thought I looked like I had a treat and came running over 🙄
Fit for nothing except booze and bed now 😂 although I did manage the washing up!15 -
Wow, that’s an epic day’s work! How annoying that the Word version had different requirements to the online form! I would be tempted to feedback to someone about that … Bravo for getting it done though! 👏😊
You can enjoy your weekend now with a very clear conscience 😊 Happy looking cows too ❤️

I'll feed back if I'm asked to change anything - keeping quiet till then 😂 there have been big changes to a few things in their organisation recently and my project has straddled them, so I suspect the online version is just the latest update. As we were contacted under the old system, they sent the old paper form, which probably doesn't even exist online any more.
Anyway, if anyone even notices, it's only part of one section that will need a rewrite - I just could NOT have done that last night!
Anyway, the sun is shining 😊😊 I am still in bed, but we are starting with a cafe breakfast, and I plan to have a nice relaxed weekend (which will undoubtedly feel quite short to someone not used to working Fridays, and will reinforce, yet again, that I don't want to go back to working full time 😂)
Some things to do:
* father's day card, although not sure there's much point now 🙄
* return library books (or at least renew, but I've renewed about 4 times now so I think I just need to get rid!)
* washing
* finish the patio area
* general tidy up
* flute practice
* get the IPL machine out
* sew a new hot water bottle cover - this one is disintegrating. It came with the hot water bottle - i might rework the old one I made
* bit of batch cooking
* ring mum
* bit of strimming
* maybe a bit of scything some of the really long grass up by the greenhouse. Not lots - but I do want to be able to get at the gooseberries when they ripen and it's gone beyond strimmer level... Also I think there's a pheasant nesting somewhere close and there's less chance of alarm/disaster with the scythe than the strimmer.
Plus a fair bit of reading and lying around.
Mr Cheery has a gig tonight, and I've decided I'm not going with him, although I often do for this band as they're fun and usually in a pub. He's hurt his back, so I'll have to load the drum kit in the car 🙄 but someone else can help with unloading at the other end. Must make sure not to injure myself again dragging stones round the garden!
Right, best get out of bed i suppose. Cafe opens in an hour and I am in need of a shower!14 -

Thanks Beanie, you too 😊
It's been a quiet and quite soggy one so far 😂 Cafe breakfast yesterday and a couple of charity shops, and then a lot of sitting around reading 😊 Had an evening to myself last night, so more reading, some flute practice, and a stint with the IPL machine & some TV.
Today has been a fairly lazy one, although I did clean the bathroom, do a quick whizz round tidying and hoovering downstairs, and tackled the grim recycling mountain 🙄
Nipped out to the local village open gardens even this afternoon 😊 It was small, so it took less than an hour including stopping for tea and cake in the church 😂 But it was good to have a nosey round some gardens, some cheerful ideas, and had a nice chat with a first responder too.
Just nipped to the supermarket for a quick stock up, and got home to find the washing wafting about limply in a downpour 🙄 Might as well leave it out now, it'll never dry inside after that without going through the washer again 🙄
Did a YouGov survey - 435 points to payout, which is less than 9 x 50p surveys, except the last couple they've given me have been 25p ones 🙄 I think this will be my first payout in all the time I've been doing it 😂
Nowt much else to report. Plan for the rest of the evening:
* ring dad
* batch cook *something*
* hoover upstairs
* flute practice
* meal plan
* text neighbour re dates for tea
* spend 15 mins sorting clothes for Vinted - promised myself I'd do this once the big project at work was over.
That'll do i think.10 -
Made 3 portions of curry for the freezer, couple of breakfasts, and some flapjack. Rang dad, then the sun came out so I came outside and tackled some of the long grass by the edible windbreak. The gooseberries aren't ready yet, but I could barely see the bushes in all the grass. Looks better now.
Before...
And after...
Also lopped the top off the lawn, and a long bit I'd left by the chicken run, and the bit behind the living room where I removed all that ivy earlier in the year, and a bit up the sides of the drive, which are fixing to meet up in the middle 🙄😂
Main field scything will be starting in about 6 weeks 😱 so trying to get the rest of the place mildly under control before then. I know it'll grow back, but it's much easier to cut when it's shorter.
Tired now!11 -

A bit tired 😂 But working at home today, and just one uneventful meeting this morning, so a relatively calm day, mostly catching up on everything I've missed over the last couple of weeks... 🙄😂7

What a difference on that before and after - well done! Also well done on getting your work thing dealt with - in spite of annoyances about things not matching up. Another vote firmly in favour of you making sure you get that time back, too!
I also have cow-envy, especially after hearing that they ran over to see you! The nearest I can claim to that of late was the geese at the country park did exactly that as I approached them on Saturday - good job I'm not someone who gets intimidated by geese, as there was quite a crowd! I do love seeing our local cows out in the field though - it always feels like it's properly summer when he turns them out there!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
