Not going to get one just yet unfortunately Beanie!
Today was uneventful. Left the house at 6.45am, journey was smooth, used a park & ride rather than trying to drive into a city centre in morning rush hour, excellent plan! Meeting/event went well, and my mission was accomplished, so a success 😊
Little bit of spending. A cuppa when I first got there (far too early for the meeting), and another one for the journey home (like an idiot I bought it from a machine in the motorway services rather than going to the actual cafe - never again!). £5 on the park & ride bus.
Mr C is out for the evening, and I've just got home and emptied the compost. Need a plan for the evening!
5-6.30 FINISH WORK
⭐ Get changed into something warmer
⭐ put some washing on
⭐ refill hot water bottle
⭐ final bit of work (a presentation & some prep for a meeting tomorrow morning)
6.30-7.30 FOOD & PREP
⭐ tonight's tea (hay box soup from yesterday)
⭐ pack breakfast & lunch for tomorrow
⭐ pack rest of bag for tomorrow
7.30-8 ADMIN
⭐ banking
⭐ open Spanish bank post - log in if I need to & make a plan for using cards
8-9 TOOT!
⭐ flute practice
9pm+ rest
⭐ hot water bottle, blanket, Call the Midwife (or maybe a blog post)
Have to say that my post 9pm plans are very tempting for RIGHT NOW but I do need to do at least SOME of those things first!!8 -
Haha I love that TOOT! is still being used for all things flutey!
As for the things you need to do, I sometimes find that identifying the thing I least want to do and taking a "JFDI" approach is a good starting point. That said though, getting changed into something warm sounds like the right starting point whatever else follows!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Well, I messed about somewhat and didn't finish working til 8pm, but I did do everything other than the admin, so still counting that as a win!
Some slightly annoying spending yesterday. I'd noticed the day before that the very end of the windscreen wiper was starting to come loose. Planned to nip to buy a new one on Sunday while in town, but entirely forgot until I was part way home so ordered one online to arrive within a couple of days. Yesterday I had a 2 hour drive and of course it rained all the way, and by the time I arrived at my destination half the rubber was flapping about 🙄 so of course I couldn't have that all the way home, so I had to buy and fit another one while I was out.
First one has now been dispatched so now I'll end up carrying a spare round in the boot - no bad thing really as a spare in the boot would have prevented this fiasco in the first place! 🙄😂
Right, best crack on - we are both going to the same place but in separate cars today (we'd normally travel together, but not when the timing is this off as we'll both end up there for hours longer than we need to be). I don't want to add insult to injury by paying for parking, but I'll have to if I don't leave myself time to walk!9 -
Well I did end up paying for parking yesterday 🙄 but I'm not beating myself up about it, just trying to learn for next time.
And in fact I did learn - we both went today, and for a variety of reasons ended up leaving late, but did still park for free and walk in (although Mr C picked up the car then picked me up from work so I only walked one way).
Tired today. First half of the day was cheerful enough, then I had a meeting which in the space of 15 minutes managed to knock me off my perch substantially and I was quite discombobulated. Very glad I have my docs appointment this week, this really isn't the kind of thing that should be throwing me like that 😕
We're heading to the supermarket for milk on the way home, then I need to do another hour or so sadly. Hopefully I can get ahead of myself for tomorrow though.
Sigh. Fed up of all this anxiety and nonsense, it's proper interfering with me doing stuff!7 -
Oh Cheery anxiety is SO horrible - makes you feel like you’re losing the plot doesn’t it. Hopefully the Doc will be able to make some suggestions and you can get things sorted. xx🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Certainly does 😕 I was a worrier as a teenager but I've never really been paralysed with it like I am now (except just before I started HRT...).EssexHebridean said:Oh Cheery anxiety is SO horrible - makes you feel like you’re losing the plot doesn’t it. Anyway, I slept pretty well, walked to the office (from the free parking, not from home) and was here before 9am so I'm counting that as a good start! I have several (hopefully unproblematic) meetings through the day which should keep me going, and other than that am on a heavy regime of regular breaks (outside where I can, even if just for a minute) and alternating decaf tea 😂
Weekend after this, and I don't have too many plans so all good 😊9 -
Decaf tea is a good idea - and getting outside regularly - particularly at that time of year with dark mornings and evenings iI find a bit of extra daylight where I can makes a huge difference.
I wonder whether your HRT needs a tweak perhaps? Allowing that anxiety was a big factor for you before you started it, it would seem possible that something is out of kilter in that area, wouldn't it.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Hope your Dr appointment helps sort things out so that you get back to your usual Cheery self.6

Yep, that's what I've booked to talk to the doc about tomorrow. It's the most obvious explanation! We'll see what she says.EssexHebridean said:Decaf tea is a good idea - and getting outside regularly - particularly at that time of year with dark mornings and evenings iI find a bit of extra daylight where I can makes a huge difference.

I've only had one cup of normal tea today but now I'm getting a headache 😂😂 it's a fine balance! One more caffeinated I think 😂5 -
My friend suffers terribly with her mental health if her hrt needs adjusting. I have been very worried about her in the past. But it’s amazing what a small change can do - I hope the same is true for you too Cheery!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
