Glad you had a good day today Cheery. It is so hard to get that self-focus/motivation/not giving in to the doom spiral thing working sometimes, so I’d definitely count that as a huge success! Hope the dr/hrt can help with the anxiety.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Thank you @beanielou @edinburgher and @themadvix 😊
Ed, I find it very motivational to see how I've progressed throughout the day! I don't use it all the time, mostly when I need special motivation, but it's instructive to be able to look back 😊8 -
You're doing brilliantly @Cheery_Daff! Good idea to have it all here to refer back to! Onwards and upwards love Humdinger xx5

Well done - not only for dealing with the situation, but for realising that there was a situation to be dealt with in the first place and then setting a good plan in place to tackle it.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thank you @Humdinger1 and @EssexHebridean Getting there. Hopefully.
Chilly today 🥶 🥶🥶 Had a lazy morning in bed and then we hopped out for a little cafe trip and a mooch round the charity shops. Bought a new dress for £8 which is both smart and comfortable, and which will do nicely for both events I have to attend on Friday. Pleased with that.
Back at home I decided to finally tackle the ceiling panel in the kitchen that fell off months ago, probably back in February 😬 I thought I'd bought the appropriate glue weeks and weeks ago but couldn't find it anywhere, so instead of putting it off AGAIN I went back out to b&q. Quite ridiculous, but I knew we didn't have any caulk anyway, and the caulk gun was rusty and seized up. Anyway, 45 minutes, and less than £10, plus 20 mins of messing about, and now it's propped up waiting to stick.
Now trying to get warm 🥶6 -
Banking done, here are the remaining amounts so far, with 11 days to go
Food & household: £42.79/£350
Diesel & parking: £110.56/£300
Joint treats: £61.45/£200
My treats: £74.66/£150
Mr C treats: £85.50/£150
Not too bad. We don't have too many big plans for the rest of the month. Lots of driving on Friday, and there'll likely be another trip to Mr C's dad, but the diesel budget should have some left in it.
Both our individual treats budgets should have plenty left in I think. Not sure about the joint treats budget. We're alright for food at the minute, but we've currently still got no fridge so not doing a big shop (might just store things outside in a big box like in the old days in this weather 🙄😂)7 -

Not been too bad today (although I've not been working and we have both been a little grouchy with each other). Mostly had a nice pottering day. This evening we've rebaited the traps and stuck one in the loft too. No actual evidence of squeaky incursions for the last couple of days anyway so it MAY have just been a one off, but I'm not holding any hope of that...
Tea made - a throwback to my old university days in a bid to use up some of the out-of-date-in-2022 couscous. It's an odd 'recipe' and I'm not sure where it came from. Couscous (with a handful of dried fruit thrown in), boiled potato and carrot, and then whatever other veg you've got in fried up in passata (or chopped tomatoes) with some cinnamon (and a stock cube, in this case). The cinnamon and the dried fruit really make it. I've not made it for yonks, but it brought back such vivid memories of the (extremely grim) student kitchen
Not much else financial to report. Our spanish bank cards and PINs arrived, so they'll need activating, and then I think we have to do 30 transactions on each to prompt our £100 vouchers. Will read and digest properly at the weekend.
Still not rung the dentist or the neighbour's solicitor - a job for tomorrow afternoon, I think.
Just realised if we spend nothing else from our pots we'll be able to transfer about £360 to savings this month. Obviously that's not going to happen - but I would like that figure to be above zero this month!
Right, need to take this nail varnish off, it's getting a bit raggedy round the edges. Off into town tomorrow, and then need to be properly prepared for excursions on Friday.6 -

The darker evenings probably aren't helping Beanie, i imagine. In my case it's most likely a combination of hormones and work (Although I suspect if I wasn't fretting about work it'd be something else). Who knows.
Exercise helped me a lot yesterday, even just waving my arms around for 5 mins at a time. Going to do a bit of yoga before bed
