I know some people use the self service tills and so.each item as a separate transaction 😉Not much else financial to report. Our spanish bank cards and PINs arrived, so they'll need activating, and then I think we have to do 30 transactions on each to prompt our £100 vouchers. For me it’s work going crazy, concern about lack of orders, lack of sleep due to hip and anxiety 🙄🤷♀️ the endlessly trailed budget and what impact that might have, Mr KK’s bad back, being cold, it being dark and the extra hassle of icy weather (having to add extra time to leaving prep in the mornings because I have to defrost the car etc.)beanielou said:I wonder what’s going on that so many of us are having increased anxiety at the moment xx

The general state of the world won’t be helping - even if you avoid the news as much as possible, it’ll be there subconsciously to some extent.
You’re definitely right about exercise Cheery - I didn’t get out for a walk at all yesterday and was very miserable by bedtime at the thought of another day here on my own (which doesn’t normally bother me at all!). A walk and fresh air are priorities today!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I also struggle in the winter but exercise helps me too. Also Vitamin D, keeping busy, small pleasures and gratitudes. Sometimes I just go under for a bit though and that's ok - we're all human and sometimes need a little more TLC than usual. Take care of yourself.

Thank you all - I'm not glad other people are struggling too, but it does make it rather companionable, which helps... xxx
There will be parking to pay for today, a conscious decision to save myself an hour of walking (probably would do me good to walk for an hour, but the timing is all wrong). But I'll have breakfast before I go, and lunch when I come home, so there shouldn't be anything else to pay for there.10 -
Have taken a leaf out of your book today Cheery and enlisted the tomato timer - I love the bongs at the beginning and end of the 25 mins! It's definitely helped with focus too.I hope you've had a better day today.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I've had a better day, yes, flashes of anxiety but manageable. I decided on the basis of our conversations here to prioritise getting some fresh air and exercise, so I DID park further away and walked into town. Turned out to be a great idea - on the way back to the car I randomly bumped into a friend in the town centre and we had a quick lunch together, and then I'd parked outside another friend's house (because there's always space) - assumed she'd be out, but she wasn't, so I had a cup of tea with her too 😂 She does a similar job to me so I was able to talk over some of the things that are bothering me and get a rational person's perspective, all good 😊
Sun is shining, so it's been a pleasant drive there and back (once the car warmed up!) And I've spent nearly an hour walking in the sunshine too 😊 Still more practical things to do before the day ends but aiming to stay positive. Hot chocolate now, then no more caffeine!9 -
Money-wise, I did buy friend lunch, but as we were at the food hall in the market it cost a grand total of £6.40 for 2 friend egg butties and 2 mugs of tea - less than parking would have cost.
Where's that spinning Martin Lewis head when you need it?? 😂13 -
What a bargain! Parking and walking sounds like it was definitely meant to be today.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Definitely was! 😊😊 Sometimes the little voice inside your head talks sense! 😂
Don't know what's going on with our heating today. It's been on for hours, radiators are hot, but thermostat still says it's only 12 degrees 🥶🥶🥶 I've tried increasing the reassure but that doesn't seem to have made a difference. Windows aren't open, and the radiators seem as warm as usual, so goodness knows. Maybe this is just the first time the heating had to properly work hard this year. It had best get its act together!
Right. Tea, flute practice, then preparations for tomorrow, which is currently looking something like this:
7am - drive to work, pay to park in town centre. Dump laptop etc in office.
9am - event
12 - back to office, lunch, work for a few hours
4pm - drive to another city (even further away), find somewhere cheap to have tea
6.30 - band concert
9pm - finish, drive home
11pm - home, all being well
Event is NOT a cheerful one on this occasion unfortunately, there will be tears involved i suspect. I'll take breakfast and hopefully lunch with me (if I can concoct something - it might be a frozen pizza at this rate), but I think I'll find a pub to have tea in, it's going to be a very long day with a good five hours of driving on top of everything else 😬7
