@Cheery_Daff - I've been known to trade in coins for bills and then walk over to the self serve machine to pay in the bills. They used to take odd change if you deposited into your account, but I seem to remember that they have stopped this if you are an adult rather than a child. I've then been known to put the remaining change into the retiring collection when attending a 'free' concert at St Martin's over the lunch hour & counting it as a charitable donation!
Over the past 20 years, OH & I have gone between NT & EH memberships making full use of it on holidays to new places & even during staycations. NT in particular is good for having a rotation of activites at some of the larger places. EH was good for outdoorsy summer weekends away. The NT membership really came into it's own when I was going through the worst of my rehab & phsyio and had to try and walk every darn day! OH would wheel me in the chair to a suitable flat location and then I'd walk as much as I could until I'd need the chair again! This eventually developed into walking from the car to the coffee shop, having a break or a lunch and then back again. 🤣🤣🤣 Now we go for strolls to see the sights on the grounds. What a difference 3 years makes! Best bit about this is that I currently only have to pay one membership, as he counts as a carer with my blue badge! A kind staff member turned us on to that & I'm very thankful for the info!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! I keep looking at historic houses membership as there are more places round here for them than there are NT.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Ooh, I've not seen Historic Houses membership, will investigate, thank you 😊
Slight derailment of plans this afternoon when the cows escaped again...
Look at that one trying to hide, in full view of the kitchen window 🙄😂 tried to get them back in, but they headed off up the drive before I could open the field gate, so I had to ring the farmer, who was in the middle of milking.
Found the break - a new place this time 😬 But partly caused by my completely overgrown nettles 😬 so I got the strimmer, farmer got his brushcutter, and we both spent a couple of hours spoiling the peace of the countryside 😬 Fence is intact again, but cows are locked out of that field til they learn to behave (or til i finish the strimming tomorrow 😂)
Hey ho. Been meaning to strim that bit for at least 2 years 😬 It's entirely nettles and we never go round there, but this is a good excuse.
Mr C got another fence panel up so at least some actual progress has been made...
Tomorrow is also derailed - my mother is arriving from her epic free bus trip at 3pm - and Mr C's friends are also arriving for a band practice around the same time 😬 Might have to do cafe/pub with my mother for a while...
Still not booked holiday, although I have narrowed it down to a few. Head spinning, so going to sleep on it then decide if seaside is necessity, or if we'd rather stay in a castle 😂 I have to make this decision on my own of course, that's the No Quibble rules!5 -
I just love your errant bovine tales!
Mr Cheery doesn't get a say but do the rest of us get to vote? I vote for seaside and OH says castle!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! My vote is for a castle. Go to the top - no lord of the manor there - but lord of all.
As far as i can see the no quibble rules mean a majority decision on here means you cannot quibble either LOLMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!3 -
