Thanks all, yes I've always found printing by the sheet quite expensive, but for this I definitely would have gone b&w at least! Anyway, for the next one I might hold off and nip to work to do it!
Last day of work today! Rough night awake til stupid o clock with period pain (I ran a bath to take the edge off, but ended up in there far longer than I needed to be). Deactivated the alarm so only just woke up, but I have a meeting at 11 so I'd best shift. There are some things I can't leave til Sept, so if I don't finish today I'll need to do them in the morning, and I REALLY don't want to do that 😬 So up, dressed, grit my teeth and focus for one more day... 😬
Then 31 days off 😃5 -
Bless you being up half the night, I hope you feel better, and work gets done today instead of carrying over until tomorrow.4

You really do need to print a lot to make owning a printer worthwhile!
I did a cost analysis of ours (yes I do that amount of detail for big purchases!) - Cost of printer, cost of ink, cost of paper (not electricity - that is another budget) - all in, I need to print 5 reams of colour printouts to break even! Luckily I have done that from work documents alone which for me is easier than printing in the office and carting home. Then of course I need to shred them afterwards but we do have a shredder so that is easy enough. I don't claim back from work for the printing, but I have on occasion been given a ream of work printing paper to bring home!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)New projection - 14 YEARS 10 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 15 mths)Psst...I may have started a diary!3 -
That's a lot RT! Might depend on what printer you have though. Ours is fine for what we usually use it for (often just me printing drafts of stuff - it's helpful to have it in the same room). It's not fancy, I think we paid £70 a few years back, and we buy cheapo inks from Inkredible (mostly because of their incredible name 😂). It's just not good enough for a fancy doc, but I'm usually in work regularly enough for that anyway.
For us, having one in the house is helpful. It's usually me printing drafts of stuff to read (sometimes in a cafe) or Mr C printing last minute song lyrics or notes for a gig 😂 neither of which are usually done well in advance... 😬4 -
We print less than 50 sheets a month and bought a cheap (less than £50) HP printer and pay £4.49 per month for printing 50 sheets with their HP Instant Ink deal. Any 'unused' sheets get carried forward. Works out well for us.#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3666

Right!
I have one small task that I just couldn't get finished tonight (it'll take me an hour, tops) and then I have finished work for an entire month 😃😃 31 whole days off 😱 I am VERY ready!
Obviously I have all kinds of plans, which involve completely sorting out all aspects of my life 😂 However, I will try to reign them in and not be too ambitious 😬
I checked banks the other day but I'll do another check tomorrow for the start of the month, and I have several financial tasks to complete.
✅ Just finished binge watching a series and have cancelled my d1sn3y+ subscription (£4.99, just had for a couple of months). Also uninstall the app.
⭐ Want to cancel gym membership tomorrow - memberships start on the 1st of the month so that'll mean it'll end at the end of August. Obviously they don't make it easy 🙄 I'm going to ring tomorrow, and make sure I can still book classes etc and pay individually once the month is out
⭐ cancel dad's magazine subscription. I've been meaning to do that forever, and they've just taken another 6-monthly payment, pah!
Those things between them add up to £79.59 a month 😱 so I feel better off already!
Mr C is off to see his dad tomorrow, so I am starting holidays in a relaxed fashion. On my list for tomorrow...
⭐ a run (I'm starting the couch to 5k again, for at least the 9000th time 😂)
⭐ a shower
⭐ mowing and strimming the garden
⭐ doing some washing
⭐ putting the recycling out (should have done tonight and I'll probably miss the wagon but hey ho)
⭐ starting to unpack all the stuff from my office, which I've been driving round in the car for over a month cos I didn't want it in the house 😬 I think that tells me how much of it i can get rid of!! 😂
That'll do. I might go to the craft group in the morning, might not. I like the idea of not getting in the car again!
Want to do a blog post every day in August (although I often say that and forget 😂). It at least makes me more mindful and helps me pin down my days with photos 😊
Have uninstalled social media apps and intend to NOT waste my holidays scrolling.
Let's see how long all these good intentions last 😂7 -
Darn it - just checked the magazine subscription through PayPal, and I think it's mine - a stupid 3 issues for £3 thing that's caught me out, AGAIN 😡 I know better than this!! Cancelled now - but I still need to check I've cancelled my dad's too 😂🤩4

£40.42 cashed out from Prolific 😃
Normally I just add it to the general pot, but I might ring-fence for my solo weekend away this month 😊 It'll make me very cheerful indeed if I can cover a fair bit of it with Prolific money! 😃7
