Sounds a lovely weekend
You reminded me I used to have a lovely insulated travel mug, think PPH must have taken it when he cleared the kitchen of stuff he wanted. I'm rural and rarely buy drinks out but it was so useful when going out in a rush in the mornings (as is my way) as I could take my morning tea with me.
I'm going to resist buying another though as I'd not actually missed it until I read your diaryMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!5 -

My lips are sealed! 🙊
Home alone today, it's not been the world's most productive so far... 😬 Tired after last night's cow shenanigans 🙄 Got home 9pm, looking for something in the car at 10pm and spotted several cows in the garden 🙄 congregating in my veg patch. Seriously, how does every animal end up in there? There are no gates, but it's a tiny space compared to the rest of the garden, and the gap in the fence is pretty narrow, and it's not like there's even much veg growing.
Anyway, Mr C and I managed to round up all 10 and put them back in the field. Had a quick check of the obvious bits of fence but couldn't see a gap, went back inside. Texted the farmer to tell him to look out for a gap.
A little while later... suspicious hoofsteps on the drive 🙄 All 10 cows, back in the garden. Fiends. They were not quite so compliant this time, and after a bit of chasing I admitted defeat and texted the farmer again. I'm not that bothered about them spending a night in the garden, but we don't have a gate, so they can wander along the lanes and onto the road and it'd be more of a hassle to round them up from there, if they didn't end up causing an accident.
We'd pretty much got them in when he arrived, but we found the broken fence post and he decided it would be easier to just shove them in a different field overnight. So the 3 of us cajoled and encouraged them up the lane and into the other field (not ours this time), and eventually got back into our respective beds about midnight 🙄
This morning, all 10 cows are standing right in the corner of the new field, looking wistfully into ours 🙄😂
Helped Mr C load the car, avoiding the cow pats on the drive 🙄 will have to go out later to have a bit of a clean up 🙄
Anyway. I have also misplaced a packet of tablets, and after much searching I think I'm going to have to fess up to the doc and ask for a replacement 🙄 And the strimmer is ready for collection - sounds like they've fixed it without having to replace the whole shaft - total cost £51.
Got a meeting at 3, going to nip into town for docs and strimmer later, and try to get something useful done in the meantime.5 -
@Cheery_Daff - useful is over-rated, especially after a night of cow herding! 🤣🤣🤣4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Cheery - I've just regaled your tale to LG - and from afar, and in daylight, I'm afraid it caused much mirth. But having been there, done that, and bought the t-shirt, I feel you pain! I thought it was sheep that were the most cantankerous to try to get to go where you wanted/needed them to go - clearly not! I know it wasn't your intention, but thanks for providing a brightspot to our day 🤗
