just catching up, I had to call a bank to stop a DD being reinstated - I didn't realise they could do that without permission but apparently they can!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!3 -

Anyway, family coming today, plus a family friend who was a big part of my childhood but who I've not seen for years, so that'll be nice! Need to get up, finish tidying, make a cake and lunch, and then I'll just potter about and weed the garden til they get here, I think.
Weather forecast is good, apart from a chance of showers at lunchtime 🙄 but the gazebo is still up.
Learned yesterday that some friends are having a bit of a camping party about 20 mins away so might trot over this evening to say hello, and we've offered a bed to a couple of people who weren't sure if they'd stay over. They probably won't take us up on it (home is 40 mins away, ours is 20 but in the wrong direction) but at least the place will be visitor ready.
Tomorrow we're off to Mr C Snr's - he's home now and it looks like carers are going in as planned, so that's good. Need to take my strimmer - the garden's quite out of hand and his is rubbish - took me about 2 hours to strim with his tiny electric one last time whereas mine will take about 30 mins I think.
Right, best get up and get on!7 -

@debtfreewannabe321 I'm so glad that you raised the question of gravestones; I was berating myself for my morbid outlook! @Cheery_Daff I hope this doesn't sound like piling in?! Love your diary and the descriptions of recent rows had me on the ground. Onwards and upwards love Humdinger xx

@Humdinger1 definitely not piling in - in fact our visitors said the very same thing today 😂😂
Lovely day with visitors today, then turned up at 11am and didn't leave til 9pm 😮 Had a nice simple lunch of lentil soup, and an assortment of bread, cheese, eggs, salad etc on the table. They showed no signs of leaving at teatime so I offered to wang a couple of emergency pizzas in the oven, they said yes then I realised I only had one 😂😂 so I knocked up another couple with flour and yogurt base, which worked very well (although they refused to believe it was literally just yogurt and self raising flour 😂😂). Also made fairy cakes, and drank far too much tea, and had a wander down to the local tea shop. All cheerful.
Mr C Snr's tomorrow. I'm taking the strimmer but as he now has carers several times a day (and has only been out of hospital for 3 days) I'm hoping we won't be facing the usual levels of chaos, and can instead just have a nice visit, and maybe take him out for fish & chips somewhere. We'll see. Mr C's nephew and family is visiting from overseas so we might pop and visit them too (there may be another opportunity for that though).
Right now though, ready for a nap!11 -

Not quite long enough 😬 But I'm mostly taking the strimmer to Mr C Snr's rather overgrown garden today so at leastit doesn't require much brain power 😂6
