Ha, we definitely have too much stuff! 😂
Productive evening here, although of course not exactly what i'd planned.
* nipped to the village shop for milk
* did an exercise video
* spent an hour scraping paint/glue/planter/foam/unidentifiable crap off the stairs ready for painting 🙈 gosh they're a right old state, I never really got close enough for a proper look before🙈 still need to bang in nails, pull out bits of old carpet, sand, hoover again and clean properly before I paint so it'll be a multi stage job!
* practiced flute for a bit
* made tea plus breakfast, dinner and snacks for work tomorrow
* arranged a couple of counselling sessions, been going a bit mad lately and want too head off complete overwhelm if I can
* had a shower and washed my hair
And finally set up the new computer. Of course this was areplacement for Mr C's old one, but having spent the last four months asking him to set it up so I can have mine back, I finally reached the end of my (extremely long, in my opinion!!) tether and stole the new one for myself. This isn't really a good deal, they're similar anyway, this just meant that having gone without for 4 months, I also had the inconvenience of the set up process 🙄
Hey ho. Lesson learned (the second time - he had mine for 6 months on the previous occasion) and I will NOT be assisting in any future technological disasters.
Anyway, I will be celebrating by sorting photographs later this week and doing a celebratory blog post 😃
(I know I could have actually just used mine whenever... and in reality I sometimes did, but it was plugged into screen/keyboard/mouse etc, and he uses it as a general TV, so it wasn't the same as just being able to pick up your own whenever you like. And it was annoying being able to see the new one just sat there!)
Anyway, in the process of all this I spotted (right in front of the sofa) a flipping shelving unit that would probably have gone in the downstairs loo instead of me ordering a new one 🙈 Havent measured so it might not, plus it's wooden and there's no heat in there, so it likely would have got damp, especially if we'd ever used that shower (which we've only ever done once). I think I'm going to poach it for my rearranging of the craft room instead, as there's nothing on it in the living room!
Right, bed!8 -
Yesterday felt better 😊 First time in a couple of weeks that I've been able to cross several things off my list, and send emails without agonising about them for hours. Felt nice!
Popped for a cuppa with my friend after work as Mr C had dropped me at work and gone to see his dad. Had an hour with friend, then she went to exercise class but Mr C wasn't back so I had half an hour of quiet in her house, then some time with her husband and kids, then she came back, then another friend of hers turned up, then finally at 10pm Mr C turned up in need of a stiff G&T before finally I drove us home - got into bed at half 12, so it was a very long day!
Working at home today, thankfully. And I've just remembered I signed up for a small running/walking event in a nearby town tonight so I must gear myself up for that 😂14 -
Wait, what? A revolving disco light in the sitting room?! More and better particulars please @Cheery_Daff. Is this to facilitate regular disco inferno sessions? Do you have a dance floor; a velvet sofa; wigs or all of the above? I agree that gentle movement is good for many bad backs and as long as Mr C is not attempting extreme moves, disco can only help...love Humdinger xx6

So no dance floor unfortunately. Plenty of velvet (although sadly not a velvet sofa, which I should rectify one day!) Many wigs in this house, although not usually worn while doing the hoovering.
I realise that explanation probably raises more questions than it answers... 👀😂

So. My event last night was fun! Nice to be having a bit of a walk/jog in the evening. I did 4 miles, which is more than I've been doing lately, it was nice to be moving 😊
Worked at home today too, and had a smear test, always fun. Pegged some washing out in the sunshine, but sadly there was a small deluge while I was in town for an hour, so now I have a flannelette duvet cover attempting to dry out on a radiator 🙄 Hey ho.
Nothing much else to report, except I've booked Monday off work so a nice long weekend, much needed 😊 Mr C and I are going to have a day of fun tomorrow, not sure what that entails yet but we are sorely in need of one! I might visit family on Saturday if they're around, and i am considering a little day out on Sunday... Monday the LPG pipes are being replaced so I need to be in for that, but have the rest of the day to potter.
Also over the weekend in financial & household terms I need to
* open the post that's accumulated
* sort the house insurance
* get the plumber back to sort the hot water
* do banks/YNAB
* list what Mr C Snr owes us
Started putting up the shelves for the downstairs loo tonight but they need a rubber mallet and I'm mot rummaging in the garage in the dark. Once these shelves are up I won't need to! 😃 (although I'm not sure I use a rubber mallet enough to justify keeping it in the house 😂)6 -
@Cheery_Daff I agree, hoovering to a disco light is more fun than any other method...but do you have the requisite beat? Or full-blown music? Christmas tree?! The plot thickens. You are quite right, your answer raises yet more questions. I await more detail with bated breath love Humdinger xx5

And there's no real story to the Christmas tree - sometimes I just can't face taking it down til something more cheerful replaces it - which the last few years has been Feb or March, or even 1st April 🙈4 -
@Cheery_Daff - the Xmas tree is just biding it's time until it turns into an Easter Tree!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Well. A nice enough day overall, although not a cheap one as we have had (mumble mumble) more than one cafe trip 😬 But sometimes needs must.
Mr C has been dealing with his dad's mobile phone issues from afar (never a calm relaxing job) and my mum rang me to talk her through her first bank switch 😬
We are aiming to have an evening free of parental IT/financial support 😬
I'm going to visit other family members tomorrow (hope they don't need any admin jobs!) to deliver Christmas presents.
Mr C is having a bath (probably not a very warm/deep one - I've texted the plumber again) and I have made tea and am in the process of building the shelving unit, although I actually need to be sorting out presents for tomorrow.
I did make the new laptop talk to my phone though, and started uploading photos.
Getting there. Would be nice to have a few days without chores of one kind or another!10
