Thank you both! Yes @rtandon27 we do indeed have some excellent views! I don't ever take them for granted 😊
@themadvix I think I've had blog posts on there a few times 😂😂 It was sorely neglected for a while but I'm gearing up to updating more regularly!
Well I'm done for the day, and have just run a nice bath, and have a pile of books to peruse 😊😊
I've not quite finished clearing all the ivy out of the grass, but there's not much left, and I just couldn't bend down any more 🙄 And we took another builder's bag of it to the tip.
Steam cleaned the mattress, duvets, and the front of both cars (both are full of crap at the back, and I didn't want the day to become a 'clearing out the cars' day 🙄😂)
Did 3 loads of washing, mostly bedding - the one that was in the wash, and the sets which were on our bed and the spare bed (which Mr Cheery has been sleeping in for a couple of nights). Of course that means I've done what I said I NEVER do, and have two beds to make up before bedtime 😱😂 But in fairness I had to let the mattress dry too, and I'd taken the duvets outside to air...
Tried to transfer the dosh from the switched account back to the main current account. Apparently I can't do it online, needed to set up biometric face checking in the app 🙄 Downloaded the app, and it wouldn't let me set up biometrics, because I'd only just started using it 🙄 So now I can't transfer the dosh back out - although now I've shut everything down in a strop it's occurred to me that it would probably let me do it in smaller installments... Will try that later.
Anyway, that's enough for today. Breakfast is ready for work tomorrow, and when I'm out of the bath I'll sort out clothes, and get all the bedding back on, and then we might watch a film 😊7 -
Better late than never. <waves, brushes biscuit crumbs off lap> I now need to work out how to subscribe to this one!

I drove for a national car parts company delivering parts to different garages in the local area, and sat at a set of lights doing van dancing. The person called my transport manager and 'grassed me up' saying it looked 'unprofessional' and how 'I'm representing the company' (that was drilled into us from day 1, but it just meant don't swear at drivers who wind you up by cutting you up (included flipping them off), or don't you cut people up when you're driving), etc. Luckily our transport manager had a sense of humour and just laughed at them. We had a laugh when she told me after I got back to base.

It never ceases to amaze me how joyless some people can be FA, and to go to the effort of calling in to grass you up - incredible.
Life's too short not to have full blown singalongs and where possible dancealongs in the car!6 -

Evening chums 😊
I don't know where this evening has gone! 😱 Well, I do. A workout, washing up, taking the Christmas tree down (!) 😂 Hoovering, bit more steam cleaning on the kitchen floor, and some banking.
What a palaver! Switched to NWest for their incentive. Had to transfer £1250 in and leave for 24 hours. Fine. Been in there since Thursday, tried to take out yesterday but it wouldn't let me transfer without setting up biometric approval, and wouldn't let me do that because I'd not been using the app long enough (with no indication of how long is 'long enough') 😠
Realised last night there may be a daily limit. Daily limit is £1000. Tried that, nope, biometrics, but you still can't register 🙄 Tried online instead of app, nope. Tried app again, still no option. Tried a much lower amount, and noticed a different daily limit (£750). Tried that and it's finally gone through, without any approval, not even a text! Although it's not yet arrived in the main bank account so who knows what fraud procedure it's being held under.
It had best get to the main bank tomorrow or else I'll have to transfer out of the easy access saver to pay the mortgage next week! And let's hope in that case that 'easy access' truly is easy access!
A mild nuisance for me, but I'd be extremely cross if I didn't have that dosh sitting elsewhere to shift around 🙄
Still got to transfer it to Mr Cheery's new account once we get it back from mine - there had best not be the same degree of messing 🙄 And they'd best give me the incentive after all this! 🙄7 -
OK, I take (some of) it back. £750 arrived back in the current account, so I've now transferred the full £1250 to Mr Cheery's new account.
* I'll need to retrieve the remaining £500 from mine tomorrow (well, maybe £450, will leave some in until the incentive arrives)
* will need to retrieve £1250 from Mr Cheery's, some time on Wed/Thurs. Will be back in the account before the weekend.
* incentives meant to arrived withinn7 days of having the dosh in for 24 hours, so for me that should be Friday, and Mr Cheery the following Wednesday, although it may be messed up because of the bank holiday
* incentives for last switch due to arrive on 29th, I believe. Although that's good Friday isn't it, so maybe another delay.
Then once the incentives for the latest thing have arrived, I'll do the next switch, assuming it's still available. And then maybe they can all give me a small rest before they throw any more offers out 😂
(Not complaining, bank switching paid for our trip to see friends in Berlin in the autumn, and our upcoming trip to see other friends in Ireland) 😊8 -
Gah! I went overdrawn for the first time in years!! 😱 I'd not realised when I transferred money out last night that I also had a standing order for a regular saver going out this morning... I'd already transferred the planned £450 back from the NW account, and didn't even realise until I checked the main account to see if it had arrived, and there was a minus figure 😱 Of course the £450 arrived a few minutes later and we're back in the black again, so hopefully there won't be a charge.
Need to leave that £1250 in Mr Cheery's NW account until tomorrow morning, then get it straight back so it's there ready for mortgage payments.
And I think I'm going to have to get some out of savings into the current account. I'm feeding 3 regular savers at the minute and I've been just doing it from regular monthly income without dipping into the separate savings account, but that's depleted my general float (along with a big LPG bill, house and car insurance etc).
The money for all that is there, but as the regular savers are building up it's not in the current account any more, I'm going to have to start drip feeding from the easy access saver. I might set up a standing order for the regular saver amount for the next few months to let the float build back up. I don't like having to watch for going overdrawn quite so closely - takes me back to the bad old days! 😱 I'll do that before work this morning.9 -
You shouldn't get a charge if it was back in funds by the end of the business day Cheery - I sometimes do transfers in the "wrong order" IYSWIM so that the joint account temporarily goes OD - but only until the next transfer reverses that so usually just a few minutes. It's not something I make a habit of, but it does sometimes save having to log in and out of the same two apps multiple times!
I'm also debating doing a new reg saver drip fed from easy access - there is a decent advantage to the interest rate, so I should probably get it organised.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
