Had to buy lunch today as I wasn't organised enough to make it yesterday, but this evening I made a paella and have packed up enough for tomorrow's lunch, and made breakfast too. An improvement 😊

I'm off on Thursday - my sister is arriving late morning but hopeful I'll get some house stuff done before she gets here.

And now I need to stop faffing and go to bed!

Crikey Cheery, just catching up. You and Mr C have really been run ragged by all this DIY - I do hope it's appreciated! Hope you're feeling a bit less tired now. Is your sister going to expect you to be full of beans at the weekend? I hope not!

I think the DIY is theoretically appreciated at least 😂 sister is certainly not expecting me to be full of beans 😂 We're actually going to the co working space to get some work done on Friday. Let's see how well that goes!

Afternoon MSE chums 😊

Spent yesterday evening reconciling Bank accounts and YNAB. Felt surprisingly flush (given the circumstances) until I realised I've not actually started populating March's budget, which of course starts the day after tomorrow 🙄 So I will need to get back in there and rectify things, as we have mortgage etc going out on Monday.

LPG company rang this morning - we need some of our pipes replaces (we knew, and had agreed to them doing the work, they were just ringing to arrange a date). Coming a week on Monday. That'll be around £900 I think 🙄

Plus house insurance is due a week on Tuesday, it was £700 last year, I've not opened the renewal quote yet 🙈 But it's not going to go away because I haven't opened the envelope! A job for the weekend. 

Anyway, my sister is here 😊 we had lunch in a cafe, Mr C joined us for a bit, I collected prescriptions, and now me and sister are home - I've shut her in my study for a couple of hours as planned, since she has an exam next week. 

I've pegged out my first load of washing of the year! Been inspired by @Greying_Pilgrim who has been pegging out and dodging raindrops for weeks. I am not so committed, and have been relying mostly on radiators and the occasional dehumidifier over the winter. Missed the morning's sunshine but there are still sunny bursts and a bit of a breeze, so I'm hopeful it'll dry a bit! 

First crocus of the year is out on our drive 😊😊😊 which might mean it's time to take the Christmas tree down soon 😂😂

I've been wandering round the garden, picking up furniture that's blown about, seeing what's happening. I was surprised how much hay mulch I'd put on the veg beds, it's rotting down nicely! Might shift some more shortly. 

I noticed the gate to the hay field had come down the other day - I wondered if the LPG people had knocked it (they don't take the tanker into the field though) but on closer inspection the post was just completely rotten 😬 Never mind - there's never livestock in there so it won't be replaced any time soon.

And now I am sat with a cuppa on my garden swing seat for the first time this year and enjoying the peace and quiet, the buzzards circling overhead, and the satisfying flapping of the sheets on the line 😊😊😊

It has indeed been a long winter! So lovely to be outside though, even all wrapped up and not out for long 😊😊

You've inspired me Cheery - I've had the odd lunch outside, but from the weekend I'll take my morning tea out (tomorrow we have an early start, so likely tea will be enjoyed on the journey).

It has been glorious here today, only 8 deg but the sun has been shining all day.  There is no doubt it definitely makes me feel more cheerful & almost like doing something, almost!
