Hello all! Back from another looong day! Wondered why I'm so tired & think its because I've had two days with very long drives on difficult roads so think its the concentration that does it! My brain cant be doing with it! Did manage to actually have a lunch break tday and spent a blissful hour in borders and starbucks! Didnt buy any books (just!) as have a WHS voucher & will spend that tomorrow with my cousin so was just doing reasearch & eating a ridiculously expensive £9 (how much!!) lunch at starbucks! Will have to pull my finger out next week as have been a bad dfw this week & eaten out (well if you can call mcdonalds & starbucks eating out!) twice plus had wine so slapped handy for me...oo flippin heck I went out Monday too, plus Sat & will be out again Tues...umm that may also part explain tiredness! Having said that was fairly saintly the rest of the month and until the insurance bill was doing exceptionally well!
Have managed to get cousin (or rather she got me!) and will be meeting up with her tomorrow at lunch for a tad of retail therapy & then a nice meal & back here at some stage sun...thinking of marathon runners & will check progress when I get home Sun pm & post as appropriate now I know who two of them are in real life!! GO FLMers!!
ANyway this eve will be spent catching up on washig as Im away tomorrow & am on call so hoping it will be a quiet one! Hows everyone else doing?
Which apprentice did yo go to school with sea?! Is it a good one or an eeedgit one?!! I love it!! Great people watching...I'd love to be on it as very practica but useless with figures so would be rubbish at that! six figure salary would be nice though eh!! Hello taxi etc al!!

Moring all. Well sun is shining here mixed with rain! Off I go today for my night out with my cousin - were meeting in the shops so I can spend my whs voucher (no doubt on books!!) and have a wander. Out for a casual dinner tonight and we'll see where we go from there. Have a good weekend all!

Afternoon all! Back from Bristol & watching the marathon. Had a lovely time with cousin and shopped in the day but bought very litte. Just nice to have chilled shopping rather than the manic shopping sprees we used to have! Got two books - Notes from an exhibiton & In the woods which both had good write ups. Aso gt about 8 from cousin to borrow! They live in a library (ie have thousand & thousands of book!) & like me books everywhere so that will keep me going for a while! Then went home & had an early dinner which was 19, got G&T on the way home & had a natter & then bed. Fell alseep in front of the telly (G&T!!) so no idea what time i went to sleep! Their two dogs (Jacks russells) slept wth me and were very sweet! Dog licks are so much softer than cat licks as they dont have the rough tongue! Had nice brekkie & then came home to do the marathon watch! Tummy feeling very dodgy and unsure if its the duck or the gin!! Will try & get a snooze this pm to catch up...never sleep well away from my own bed!

Hi ISOM, glad to hear you had a nice time, that sounds lovely! :) I think it might be a bit dangerous reading your thread with all the book recommendations ;) Ever since I built bookshelves in my new flat and got books out of the boxes that they'd been in for almost a year, I've rediscovered real enthusiasm for reading. Currently got Sebastian Faulkes' 'Human Traces' on the go, very interesting so far, have you read it?

aw P youre a sweetie! I've read both though lol!! No havent read human traces but would be interested to know what ts like as have now run out of authors/books..have a lovely pile here & unsure which to start with! Pleased I finished rebecca but found the ending a bt annoying as I thought the x-cousin blokie had sommatto do with it...I have a great selection from cousins book shop (seriously like being in a free sweetie shop!!) - AS Byatt, Babel Tower (loved posession), Tana French, In the woods (WHS), Atonement (Ian McEwan), Esther Freud ,The sea house, AL kennedy "Everything you need"...Patrick Gale, notes from an exhibition and McCarthys Bar which is apparently v. funny! Will let you know how I get on! Keep those recc coming! Anyone read a thousand spendid suns yet?!!
