  • Hi all, yes am ok but with class etc have just popped in and last night not much to report! Had a crashing migraine today and came home early.
Bro has been caught up in the India situation (he's out there doing photos for his latest book) and thankfully is ok but the cafe he was sitting in was bombed a few minutes after he left which is downright scary. He's flying home tomorrow and is ok. So hard when youre so far away at times like this. Mind you I feel relatively calm - possibly as he's got into a far few scrapes over the years as travels the world alot plus am a great believer in when youre times up youre times up!
Talking of which my neighbor rang this eve from the hospice to say that they will now manage her pain but that there is nothing else they can offer in terms of treatment! Again I feel ok about this as its been a long time coming tbh...will see her when she's home next week..! Suspect it hasnt hit her yet, although she said she had a good cry on Sun when it hit home...
Debtbusting wise a good week so far althoughwe had a team "must have toast" day earlier! Alfie having his stitches out tomorrow and incredibly still has all of them in!

  • Thank God he got out ok..although i suspect you won't relax until he is safely home.
Not the same, but my brother was in a similar position during the london bombings a few years ago..literally missed by minutes.
Sorry to hear about your neighbour as well..always poignant this time of year..one of the positive things about it is that she will be able to say goodbye to loved ones-that's how my friend put it when she was dying from breast cancer..she said not many get to do that! True.
Good little alfie..how's evil bob doing?

The same sentiments as BOB here...glad everyone is ok then and that Alfie is being good.
  • Hello all, Alfie off for his stitches tonight and am working from home today. Didnt have a good nights sleep as had terrible heart burn (from cheesy pasta and rick chocolate pud?!!) so starting the day with nice cuppa, paracetamol ad heart burn tabs!
Yes, good that neighbor has time to say goodbyes and is planning her funeral as she wants it. Bro emailed and should be flying back today but other than that nowt to report...all feels a bit mundane here!

Sure Alfie will be ok .A quiet weekend is something that you could do with to unwind as you have had a lot of stress over the last few months.
  • am ok taxi honest! Had a nice lie i and just eaten brekkie with bath running and need to get a move on as cc starts at 10!
Good news is that bro is home well and safe. Got the full story and he was having dinner at one of the hotels and decided against "one for the road" (as it wasnt french wine!!) and left - five mins later they invaded...says he watched from his hotel a block away and sounded very shell shocked...he'll go home (France) for a couple of days to spend time with his wife...A huge relief for us all. Mum was in floods of tears..dont know why but I just thought he would be ok so felt quite calm.
Anyway off I go. A girl is bringing her beading books so I'll see if I can borrow!!

Oh my word. Thats terrifying, for your bro to be so nearly caught up in it. As you say, its only when you're completely safe again that it hits you ... I'm glad he can relax now.

And you too! Enjoy your day at the craft club ... and Alfie xx

  • Quite kk - had a nice time at craft club and then went to allotment with friend and her camper van and 3 children. Plan was to have lunch al fresco but it was cold enough to freeze appendages! Instead we had lunch of freshly cooked bacon sandwiches and hot chocolate in the camper van - bliss! Funny how the little things cause so much pleasure! Two of them went out for a pee and one came back saying his willy hurt it was so cold! Edible child also discovered that if he shoved his hand down my cleavage that it was lovely and warm...will be interesting when I see him in church tomorrow...when he sees me now he giggles and shouts "cat, cat!"!!!. Then came home and took more tablets and went to sleep for 3 hours! Hopefully diminishing migraine will go - will stay off the wine for a bit as suspect that is the culprit!
