Evening all. lovely to be home...nursing care generally good and consultant was lovely plus found out just before I went in that the SHO is a Christian which gave extra reassurance. Am very sore and incision goes from one side of back to the other so much bigger than last time. Bestest mate coming to see me tomorrow which is lovely as havent seen her a while. Apparently if the scar goes all the way round I get 2 visits!! Hopefull this one will do it...didnt like to think of the "we'll have to have a think if it doesent work this time" comment that surgeon made!! Signed off for 2 weeks but likely to be longer as incision so much bigger and wound has to be done by district nurse this time. Am hoping no leakages over the w/e as would have to go to the out of hours....Mum looking after me well and lots of lovely texts, phone calls etc makes me feel very loved. Just made a cake (ginger) as have visitors tomorrow and have to be as mobile as I can while not overdoin it or will get clots! Had a look at throat and no wonder its sore - bruised from where they put the tube in plus coughing up yukky gunk...Just about to have boiled egg on toast for tea which mum is making! Hope youre all enjoying the bh weekend. Weather here not great but at least not monsoon like rain!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Morning all...or should I say afternoon. Just watching olympics ending with mum. had a lovely lunch with best mate who came armed with gin, fags (she forgot I'd given up!), hello mag, yummy biscuits, kettle crisps and penny sweets...she knows me so well!!
Mum made yummy roast lamb so now stuffed and just going to lie down for a bit...am ok up for a while but finding that I feel quite sore if I sit too long but then hips hurt if I lie too long so cant win really!! Not spending though so thats sommat! Mum going to help me baste the baby quilt so I can sew that lying down and at east be doing sommat! Am no longer very good at doing nothing! Even better is its almost time for drugs again and nice clean dressing which is all good! Have to say mums been a star but have told her to relax so she's now doing her nails!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -

:rotfl: :rotfl: coming armed with gin and fags..:rotfl: Made me chuckle that one..When my gran was in hospital, i was suspicious as her mates were sneaking in whisky so she could have it in her tea! The fags she had she wouldn't smoke as she wont go out in fresh air..well at 92 as she was then, i think she could have had a point..so secret of her long life is whisky and fags..sounds like a song title doesn''t it?:rotfl:
Hope you have a relaxing day and i am sure each day will become easier..is baby bob behaving himself? and Alfie:DBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

hello bob! Just bck from trip out with mum to get a book (& I treated her to lunch at starbucks) and do asda shop. Wanted to stock up on cat food/litter as dont know when I'll be able to drive and dont want to have to ask people unless I really have to. Bob is fine and Alfie gave us a fright as we thought only one of his balls had decended but thanfully the other has dropped! Would have had a trip to vet otherwise...will take him for his 2nd jabs at some point but thats paid for. This afternoon mum doing curry and will just chill. hope you all ok. dont worry taxi - promise I wont overdo it - couldnt even if I wanted to!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Blimey, ISOM, I thought you'd be prostrate for *ages* - I'm astonished you're up and around the way you are. Please don't overdo it - but you *are* making it sound like a holiday, you know! How do you feel?2023: the year I get to buy a car0

exhausted and somewhat pathetic tbh! I wouldnt class this as a holiday by any streatch of the imagination as can barely go out! It will take weeks to get back to normal but it was nice just to get out for an hour or two but feel shattered now. Mum going home tomorrow so very concious that I needed to shop while I had a lift and could get mum to carry heavy stuff like cat food/litter that I dont want to risk lifting. will do some reserach this pm into lifting with ops and may ring the consultant tomorrow to ask when I can drive etc as he would be the best one to speak to (or rather his secretary!) as he will know from length of incision (pretty much hip-hip but at the back). Its itching which is good as a sign of healing plus am taking loads of vitamins to aid the healing.Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! You will feel tired for quite a few days and I would imagine no lifting for at least a fortnight...I do mean take it easy.If you need shopping can't you do it online?..you are sounding chirpy and sound like you are being well looked after..take care x0
