Buffy I loved reading this. I'm doing ou course too but I'm in long haul club. Paying it off by next year sounds great. I'd like to lose weight too but not going well.
Mumofone I agree about a pass is a pass!

Thank you! :o I didnt think any one read it! mainly cos not much has happened lately.

Well I did my list, I didn't have time to get to the bank, but everything else is sorted.

This weekend is all about tidying up and sorting stuff for e bay its a week into march already I ve not done anything! re my ebay/10 pound challenge!

Meant to be writing OU essays and notes. trouble is I have a bit of a headache - after my driving lesson which was like being in hell, I don't know if another 300 pounds on lesson is really the way to go. I hate it and have been trying to learn on and off for 10 years - starting and stopping lessons. I was doing ok with this instructor until I burst into tears over a bit od waywood steering and this week I just couldn't break the feeling that driving isn't for me.

The trouble is I must learn to drive - it would widen my job prospects, it would mean i could look after Mum and have some sort of independance.

and now an actual money question.

If I borrrowed from an interest free CC card and paid it in to an ISA - say 1500, at 6% is it worth doing? the interest would pay off the fee and then what was left although could be an extra bit of mony towards the debts.

I think it would make around 90 pounds a month? mind you my maths is rubbish.

    any opinions?

and I thought of some thing else. but myhead hurts so I tihnk I shall go lie down for a bit.

    see you later

I couldn't do your cc card trick as you need to be organized and I'm definately not or I wouldn't be on here when my essay isn't finished. As for driving how about a short break then try again? Driving may not be very money-saving but what with work and kids I couldn't manage. Also hope to manage holiday this year so car essential. Love the name I hope you high kick those debts!:D

Had another thought don't cards charge extra for cash advance? Also 0% could be on purchases only. Sorry takes a while for brain to kick in!

  • Hi Kika, cheers again for taking an interest. The credit card is 0% for cash and purchases, so I am kinda thinking about it...... to be honest I am not that organised, well I am sometimes and not others! (I also have an essay due that I am not writing!)

In the end on the weekend I went to a first birthday party which was lovely and E bay etc kinda of took a back seat, I have a pile of stuff now need batteries for the camera!!

it is 9.45 but I still have to put the bin out (yuck ) and get ready for work (double yuck)

Although tonight i paid a load of bills - well ok two! and got two overpayments returned, you its things like over paying my cc by fifty quid, that make me think I shouldn't do the borrow to put in ISA thing..

I also paid early the money I (shouldn't have) spent online. bad day at work, and had an expensive moment of weakness!

Looking at my current acc I should be able to make some sort of over payment this month too. which is cool
I will decide on the weekend. right now i need to sort out lunch type things and put the rubbish out.

And completely off topic but nick in CSI is fit.

on that note I am off to de bin the kitchen. which me luck.

Congrats on over payment. Afraid I'm a spendaholic too. Yeah he's ok but prefer NCIS (when I'm allowed to watch) as has humour

now I was going to garden but it is chucking it down so no chance of that, instead I am going to tidy up my room and the conservatory and do abit of hunt for e bay stuff.

it is 11 already!!! must get a shift on!

Ps. Kika - come and join us on the spendaholics thread, and what does FAWLC stand for?

  • Even better news - BSM give you a 2 pound discount on EVERY lesson if you have a NUS card!

I told my drving instructor I didn't want any more lessons, - he was awful in my opinion, so I am going to give BSM a go instead!!! plus they have a simulator? which sounds good, since I am stupidly nervous...

  • quick update,

Mum comes back friday so I have sort of let my hair down this week, I need to tidy up a lot!!! - I live with Mum cos I am very lucky that I get on really well with her and it means I can pay off my debts much quicker.

so it has been expensive cabs to work mircowave meals and loads of cleaning, and working.

I had a good hunt around the loft tonight bit scary on my own!! but I have got tonnes of stuff to sell, should keep me going for the rest of the year - I am not kidding here,I know how to waste money like no one I know,

but with work being grim I haven't gone on to much whilst Mum has been away. I have to admit its been spurts of saving and splurging with moments of utter misery really not good by myself,

so I am looking at the Easter Weekend as my new start. and until then I am just going to concentrate on my Mum coming home to a nice clean house with flowers and candles and stuff.

  • Hey Buffy!

Hope all's good with you! I'm in absolute agony after my first workout at the gym (ended up with a Personal Trainer who got me to pass out for the first time in my life!! lol!)

Sounds like you've got things all planned for the weekend, I'm trying to keep my head low over the easter break and save for Rome in April...things are pretty tight at the moment!

Definitely recommend eBay sales, I've 'made' £200 from it this month alone!
