At least your not burying your head in the sand, your positive, yes youvr taken on another debt, but in time that debt will pay for itself.

So what course are you doing with open uni?

Also if its any help you can also apply online with them.

Once you get accepted and given an OU no eg Y21121211 then go to
www.nusextra.co.uk you pay £10 for your nus card, but get discounts at most places, my 1st question in a shop do you do student discount! x
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
  • wow thank you Mumto one, I will fill in my application! I am doing a history course, although I teach history my degree is in another subject so it never looks that great against other applicants for teaching jobs. In the future I want to do some media courses too, since I teach that too! Doing it a bit the wrong way round, but that is me all over!

I fell into my current job, and it used to be great but now management has changed and although I have a fab time with the students other "stuff " is just getting me down, not today tho it was quite fun!

thanks again you have NO idea how much money you have saved me,

    xx

Your brainy, with a degree already, thats the best bet with open uni you can pick and mix your courses, my level 1 Ive done, Law, Business and Finance, just started level 2 of business and had this bright idea!!! to do Level 1 social sciences.

The NUS card is an absolute godsend, whether you save 10p or £10.00 it pays for itself in no time.

  • really not brainy! don't know how I got my first degree total fluke!

For my second TMA I have to do a "project" and i am going to relate it to paying off debts, you have to make a plan, execute the plan, write up your results - so I will do a paying off debt thing.

realised I haven't been posting in my own diary. well what have I been up to?

work has been dreadful, so despite my two year plan I have decided to start looking for another job, life is too short to come home and be sad and sit on your bed in the morning not wanting to move cos you can't bear the thought of another day there.

My BT was successful, I put my Avon books out which is good, not many orders but its a start. I have been researching stuff to sell on E bay and have two boxes good to go.

there isn't much else to tell, dd's are all set up now its the tough bit of getting on with it.

Crikey this entry done't sound very cheerful, but honestly aside from work I am pretty ok.

    just so sleepy now

Re work - youve got to do what best for you, lifes to short to be unhappy - thou we all have our moments

Apart from having my daughter, she makes live worth living and all the c*ap worth taking.

If you dont do it now ur regret it, dont wait for anything bad to happen b4 you realise u need a change.

I was involved in a car accident in 2000, mine got wrote off, the idiot behing hit clutch instead off break - cut a long story short, I ended up on a spinal board and in the head and nack encasing, all you can see is the 6in square on the ceiling, I promised myself, that if I ever got out of this in 1 piece, I would have the holiday of the life time. Luckly the injury was very bad whiplash, trapped nerve and damage to the muscles in my spine, but compared to what it could of been, ----so 2001 had some compensation money, booked Sri Lanka and the Maldives......what happen Sri Lanka airport got blew up 2 weeks b4 due to go, but as I made myself a promise I was going somewhere, left it in the travel agents hands, ended up in Mexixo, 2 days in2 that was 9/11!

Thou got the itchy feet with travelling, booked Kenya and Goa for 2002, but instead had my daughter!! I wouldnt say have a baby to change your life!

Put yourself first, while your young enuf to, and theres no ties to hold you back/ x

Thank you, apologies in advance I have a habit of trying to mother hen everyone!

Thou I should take a leaf out of my own book! Just got collared for £200 bank charges from the halifax so the air was blue!

Was worried bout you, seemed you had the world on ur shoulders, thou I wouldnt recommend the car accident route to have a decent holiday!!

Im very sad got the big 4......0 in 2011, so fancy a trip on Orient Express (cheapie UK version - though for 3 hrs thats about £300! ) and Las Vegas, so have cut the holiday out and taped it all places, (had to use different travel agents incase they thought I was a storker), even put one on the toilet door!
This debt free lifestyle will get there eventually (she says through gritted teeth!!)

Unless I win the lottery 1st.... we can dream x

  • Well not the most money saving of days - went to a Christening and on the way home, I had to get two buses and one only runs once an hour and well I had to walk round theshops, nice empty calm shops on a sunday and I found the pound shop ) i love it!!

and then on my next bus change over I found the pet shop not so good on the money saving front !!!

I got two goldfish, two mollies and a siamese fighter all now happily settled in to their various homes.

not very money saving but did cheer me up quite alot!!!!

I have to say I can feel my resolve waning on the money front. Curse January and its length.

there are so many things I want to do!!!!!!!!!

  • Well I am back although to be honest I am thinking of jacking it all in. Just when I think everything is ticking along some thing rotten happens.

Work is foul and although I don't spend money during the week, I keep shopping on line. I bought some books relating to teaching - for people at work plus three dvd to use in lessons but no one will pay for them AND they want to make copies. so I have forked out about 60 quid and everyone benefits. won't do that again.

I am thinking seriously about getting to work early cos staying late isn't working.

I started OU this week except I didn't.

I think I am just feeling way too sorry for myself and a bit fed up with my bosses.

I must go and do some prep tomorrow - am watching one of the DVD's I bought!! so I guess that is something.

right going to sort my life out for work.

I haven't been on here much either have lost the thread of all my challenges.

tomorrow and Thursday am out, Wednesday is ou, I will catch up with stuff here next weekend.

I have 15 quid to spend till Friday.

    see you all soon.

    Buffy. xx

You have had a rough week, what hashappened to the OU course?

Wot a rip off with the stuff for school, maybe a strong word or 2 (politely!!!!)that you paid for the items out of your money, as maybe they dont realise it.

I know the feeling about jacking it all in, fed up of trying to make money stretch, and rob Peter to pay Paul.

They say money saving is easy!! Remind me to laugh.

Dont know about you but think we both need a kick up the rear, if you want a debt buddy give me a shout and we can try and beat the world.
