Slaying my Debts

  • Well. what have I been up to.

    not a lot!

I really need to tidy up but also need to visit my friend and her gorgeous baby.

    so baby first then tidy.

    but first an update.

    1. I have decided to study with the OU, I can't get it paid for but I shall put it on a 0% card. it will help me get a better job so it is worth getting in to more debt for a few months.

    2. My Wonderful Mum cut my hair thus saving me 50 - 75 pounds (that's what I used to spend :o ) I have the same light happy feeling I get from the hairdressers without the CC bill! *swings hair*

    3. I need to work out my new debt free date. more like March 2009,

    4. I changed my bank to a free account, I cancelled some of my charity donations. ermmmm. there was something else. but I can't remember it now.

I am seriously miserable about going back to work on Monday. I think a lot of my problems with money stem from not being happy for a while now. must work on changing that.

right today I will make the phone calls to OU and my cc companies. hate phone calls.

    wish me luck!

    xx

  • right couldn't do the balance transfer thing the OU shut at 5.30 annoying! will have to do it from work on Monday.

But did ask sainsburys for a cheque cos I overpaid them months ago by
64.79  so will get that and pay it to my loan, or my new cc debt :(

which will be worth it cos it will mean I can get a better job.

If you're studying with the OU then make sure you get as many student benefits as you can - you'll definitely be able to get a NUS card, so hello to discounted entry to things!
Total Debt 13th Sept 2006 (exc student loan): £6240.06
    O/D 1 [strike]£1250 [/strike]O/D 2 [strike]£100[/strike] Next a/c [strike]£313.55[/strike]@ 26.49% Mum [strike]£130[/strike] HSBC [strike]£4446.51[/strike]@15.75%[STRIKE]M&S £580.15@ 4.9%[/STRIKE]
    Total Debt 30th April 2008: £0 100% paid off!

PROUD TO [STRIKE]BE DEALING [/STRIKE] HAVE DEALT WITH MY DEBT ;)

I don't think I'll know what to with my wages when they are all mine!! its mad really...........

Right, a quick update and some ponderings.

I have joined three challenges for 2008

    1. to live off 4560 pounds for the whole year (rent/household bills not included)
    2. to pay off 10,000 pounds from my loan. this means making a payment of 820 pounds each month.
    3. Lose 28 pounds in weight - With Immoral Angel and co.

I am debating whether to study with the OU again. I have tried before and always failed, but I tell my kids you only fail when you stop trying.

I do think it will help me get another job, I am not happy in the current one but it costs 565 pounds.

I could pay for in on my new 0% card, and pay it off out of my spending money? and perhaps use my Avon Profits to pay for it.

Looking at all this written down it is quite scary but at the same time satisfying - for the first time in a long time I know where I am going and what I am doing.

    xx

I have been looking at the OU it's a shame they don't do more law degrees though or media. I was so tempted to do this with the Australia OU but I'd have to find & pay for an exam invigilator.
  • I moved my OU fees to my 0% credit card, plus the driving lessons I booked, so I now have a 900 pound cc bill.

its not so bad, driving will mean I can change jobs, and OU will also mean I look better in my CV. AND I WILL CHANGE JOBS IN TWO YEARS.

so a hundred pounds a month and it will be done.

other then today was n't bad - you may have gathered I don't like my job but hey, in fact with that in mind I 'd better go sort stuff out for tomorrow.

good bye having a life its term time!
