Slaying my Debts

I think that would be a plan,
I had dinner at my friends tonight and I SWEAR she doens't mean it and I love her very much but she can be a bit smug married and sort of questions my life - ie single living with my mum(makes me sound like a geek no matter what I say but I love my Mum she is fab so there) and whilst she was briefly on the phone, I looked at my money - got loads of notes in my phone and worked it all out again.
I could pay off OU by July and my loan would still get done by dec 2009 especially if I go all out on the extra money front. And then I could stay in work for another six months(saving) and in the summer of 210 I could do what ever I wanted. I would be 34. Now that would be cool.
so mum2one lets do it.
I do not want to be as miserable as I was yesterday so there!

Right I was going to post lots of personal stuff here but frankly its bad enough I talk about being in debt without wittering on like a nutter!

I have marking to do so can't write much but this weekend things are going to change.
so expect to see a new and improved debt slaying Buffy on a board near you!

Advice if you spill TEA/Liquid on your laptop...
1/ Switch it off
2/ Drain all the tea/liquid as quickly as possible (try to drain same way it went in if possible
3/ REmove all ports / CPU / Mem / pull it to pieces as much as your comfortable with as quickly as possible
3.2/clean affected area as much as possible with distilled water, qtips..ect..
4/ If suger/acidic liquid, would be worthwhile washing again in water..(i.e. pour water over the affected area to clear
5/ put in airing cupboard for '2 weeks' to dry out
6/ re-assemble your computer
7/ turn on
I also spilt tea on my laptop...didnt know this info..drained..tried to restart instantly...came on,went off...left it to dry...wouldnt come on...left it to dry for 2 days...wouldnt come on....left if for a week...came on finally and worked ever since..PHEW...
The worst thing is if it is a sugery liquid..might come on after dry out but if there are connections from the liquid residue between circuits or acidic will ROT the mother board..Hence the rinse process is very valuable...trust me will not do further damage than already...0 -
cheers Delboypass, too late for my lap top but someone will find it helpful I am sure! I was so gutted when that happened tho- I think I did roughly what you said, I have my tea black, and to be honest it was on its last legs any way bless it. I quite like the new one I suppose. windows vista drives potty and the clock doesn't keep time but it does work.
well, I did n't need to iron but i have tidied and looked at my bank account, I haven't done my marking for tomorrow but am so tired.
money wise having looked at my accounts its not good. I am wondering whether or not to borrow money on an 0% card to lower my loan? but i am not sure if it is a good idea or not. I could borrow 2000, make an extra payment on the loan and then pay off the card? it would have to be an MNBA card tho.
I will sleep on it. unless anyone has any adivce.
this week is a big book marking week. and i have parents evening. ugh. and then next weekend, its the big tidy up and organise the house - not as bad as it sounds. its collect e bay stuff, move furniture round in conservatory more furniture round in my room - to put in new shelves and cupboard thingy. hopefully it should be quite doable, I am going to little bits in the week.
right i need to go to bed now and not surf money expert.
good night all and may you having many no spend days and bargains

right i was going to bed but i just did some sums and figured that I could be debt free by november 2009.
I would have to be really strict. but if I earn
1763 per month.
- 500 rent
- 200 spending money
- 63 = covering phone bill, charity gifts - I can lower the phone bill further
- 80 pounds savings ( for vet bills)
= 920
448 on loan
plus 472 on extra payments/ interest free cc
now I am going to check my savings and see if I can cut down orstop - I might have enough of a buffer to cover vet bills. and if so I would just pay a1000 pounds off my debts each month. in four months that would a straight thousand off my loan. I feel quite sick. that is such a lot of money.
Plus what ever I make on ebay/avon or maybe I should keep that as spending money? cos i have to have some slack for when work is awful and I need well want something to cheer me up! - feb was one big moment of weakness.
I know this seems very similar to what I wrote before (which has been working) but since then i have paid for OU and driving lessons.
its no good all the sums are rnning round but i need sleep.
see you later ( you will note i did surf after my last post - its reading the inspirational stories you see makes me rethink all my spending )

"Be brave, do a SOA post it and sit back with a cup of tea and wait for some constructive help. I have no intention of belittling your crisis and the fact you owe £20k but a little effort from my wife and I and the massive help from this board and Martins tv / radio programmes have reduced our debt by MORE THAN YOU OWE in 2.5 years. It's been a pain having only £10 some weeks to buy food with, or being housebound ( I'm disabled) when I have no money for petrol etc but if we can do that your can clear your debts with help which you will get here.
PLEASE be positive. Think positive and things look a little better. One thing for sure, suicide doesn't help, I know I've tried that, got the T shirt and the debts are still here but help is on the way.
Post the SOA asap.
Chimpchoker"
I have just quoted this to remind me that it is possible to stop pointless spending money and actually pay off debt.

4. get mini statments from the bank for all accounts.
5. get first birthday present (woolworths)
6. have driving lesson.

Buffy I loved reading this. I'm doing ou course too but I'm in long haul club. Paying it off by next year sounds great. I'd like to lose weight too but not going well.
Mumofone I agree about a pass is a pass!long haul no 65:sad:
