    No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

    I would be struggling to make myself walk in those temperatures too, especially if leaving very warm spaces to get into those cold temperatures - something of a thermal shock!

    - When bought house £315,995 mortgage debt and end date at start = October 2039 - now £239,814
    - OPs to mortgage = £10,327 Interest saved £4,584 to date
    Fixed rate 3.85% ends January 2030

    In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

    Thanks all, I always feel better after spending time at the beach. 

    Day off today, picked up some parcels, visited DM with DF then dropped him off in town before coming home and blitzing the house. It looks much better which makes me feel much better.
