Yes I did see this link previously supplied ( I think ) from you molerat, but unless you tick to say you received a letter rather than heard word of mouth from friends/family or other, it seems you are blocked from progressing further.molerat said:optoutDB said:
It's disgraceful that switching to weekly isn't 1 click on their website. I spent 20mins hanging on the phone before giving up for the time being.
Bring in Elon Musk to sort them out I say.It is for many, MrsM can do it but I can't.
MrsM registered no problem, ticked the letter option even though she had not.Qyburn said:
I think you can only register once you've claimed. And it was a pain registering ..It is for many, MrsM can do it but I can't.

Yes, I did see that seems to be way to to proceed. Wasn't sure if there may have been some code in the 'invitation letter' that might needed to be quoted.molerat said:poseidon1 said:

Would be interested to see what such a letter actually states. Has anyone actually received one?0 -
The invitation letter includes "Your unique invitation code", which it implies would be needed to claim online. I can't remember if they asked for it over the phone.poseidon1 said:

I did both mine and Mrs' Sb by registering, and then using the "online" option as per an earlier link in this thread, (thanks to whoever it was), ....but yes, a bit of a pain to register, but once in you can make some basic changes without the need to contact them..."It's everybody's fault but mine...."0

I believe everyone gets that standard letter a few months before pension age. That letter directs claimants to the website link below and not the link provided by molerat ( at least that was the case for me).Qyburn said:

https://www.gov.uk/get-state-pension
The above link, using the unique code in the letter ( code seems to commence first 3 initials of surname) then defaults to set up receipt of pension on the 4 weekly cycle basis ( no other option offered as everyone who received it will attest).
I am assuming there is a separate and distinct letter offering change of frequency of payment that makes specific reference to the link https://www.manage-state-pension.service.gov.uk/
I am wondering what that elusive letter looks like and on what basis it is issued.0 -
After making our claims we each received a letter headed "Your State Pension Amount", giving dates and amounts assuming four weekly payment. The third page in the section "Manage your State Pension online" gives the link, or rather its landing page www.gov.uk/manage-state-pensionI am assuming there is a separate and distinct letter offering change of frequency of payment that makes specific reference to the link https://www.manage-state-pension.service.gov.uk/

Now that is an interesting development, since my 3 page letter back in August 2023 had no section entitled ''Manage your State Pension online" only references to pension credit, deferring, and other benefits.Qyburn said:

In theory therefore, anyone who gets the new crop of invitation letters should pay attention to that new link, if they want weekly rather than 4 weekly payments.
A welcome improvement over the old 2023 system of having to request phone numbers.1 -
My recent pension increase letter also contained a section and link to manage your state pension online. I’d already used it beforehand.poseidon1 said:

£921 is the standard 4 weekly full new pension so you should be getting that every 4 weeks. Are you living in UK? When did you start receiving your pension ?0
