Switch completed 26 Feb am, £1250 paid in on 26 Feb am, £200 received this pm, last Natwest incentive 2019, last RBS 2023, last Ulster 2023. Didnt receive any notification when incentive paid.
Have you received the £200 from all three this time or just natwest
Just natwest, didnt apply for others yet.
  • Only applied to rbs. Switched into existing account as last bonus pre 2019. Switch date 26/02, £1250 paid in straight after switch and left there. Bonus paid just now! Now to try NatWest!!
  • Hi everyone! I just opened a second Chase current account and I'm using this to switch to RBS. On the process of the application/switch, RBS is asking if I have a debit card. If I put the debit card number that is within the app, will it cancel that direct debit and hence my main Chase account won't have a debit card?
No as long as you don't use your chase main account details will be fine. Have done 3 switches this way
  • I can confirm that you get the switch payment for each account got the Natwest payment yesterday and the rbs one today
Have you received any previous switch payments from either NatWest or RBS (since 2020)?

Good point … in a way, even though I’m fully immersed in this new switching culture, it’s hard not to think that it’s an ultimately cynical, sorry indictment of society today … we are all sensibly taking advantage of money being offered to us, but it’s somehow kind of tragicomic given the context of the cost of living crisis.
It's easy to think that loads of people are doing this, but really we here are a small group overall. I've said it on here before that many people would never consider changing bank and have been with the same bank, receiving paltry or no interest for decades. Banks make their money from these people. For many that do switch, they will stay with the new bank rather than switch again so banks can make money from other products targeted towards them.
This is all factored for in their marketing budgets. It's all about upping the statistics for new account openings.

I'm not sure that the cost of living crisis makes much difference with switching. For many on here it's a bit of a hobby to make some extra cash, we'd be doing it cost of living crisis or no cost of living crisis.
Obviously the people who would benefit most from these offers are those living in poverty and deprivation, but I would be surprised if many of this demographic would be partaking in and benefitting from these offers.
This is very true of probably a small amount of folk serially switching.
Talking financially to a group of mates only one had switched to gain a bonus and he is very money savvy, gaining vouchers, cash off deals etc here and there. But when it comes to putting a few thousand in an higher interest account than his current savings account, clueless. Also won't 'risk' another bank bank switch. Asked what he meant by risking not wanting free money, a shrug of the shoulders.
We all differ in what we term, wanting a freebie or an offer. I'd rather have a few hundred easily gained by a few taps on a keyboard from home (bank bribes) than getting a free coffee here and there or money off a tin of beans at Aldi type of stuff.

Like others I've tried for all three switch incentives. RBS and NatWest are switches into existing accounts (I have had bonuses since 2020 but through it was worth a shot); new and first ever Ulster Account (hoping I at least get this bonus paid out given the Groups history of systems not speaking to each other when it comes to switches). My Ulster debit card arrived today as did my customer number, but I still don't have the activation code to access online banking or their App.
  • Just to add my experience to the thread - I switched from a donor Chase account into my existing NatWest account. This existing account had previously received a switching bonus in March 2019. I tried switching into this account again in 2022 and that didn’t pay out.

This time round, the switch completed yesterday, I paid £1250 into the account at 8am this morning and I was paid the bonus at lunchtime today! So the money had only been in there a few hours and it paid out so quickly - possibly because the account is my main account and my salary goes in regularly? Either way, I’m happy 😊
  • Did anyone only apply to RBS?  I’m trying to work out whether my not having received their offer is directly related to my having received the NatWest offer this morning or whether it’s simply that they have not yet paid out …
I did. Switch date 23rd Feb. Bonus received 2 working days later on 27th Feb.

We don't know the answer to this yet until we get more evidence of bonuses having (or not having) been paid.
Thanks so much!  Tomorrow will be the second working day since my switch completed (and money transferred), fingers crossed 🤞
  • I can confirm that you get the switch payment for each account got the Natwest payment yesterday and the rbs one today
Wow!!  Congratulations!!!! So good to hear, thanks for the update 😊
