Natwest Credit Card - Changes

Has anyone else noticed that with the Natwest Rewards Credit Card (and presumably other Natwest/RBS Credit Cards) spending marked as ‘pending’ is immediately added to the balance amount as soon as the purchase is made?

It used to be listed as ‘pending’ and only appeared  in the balance once the transaction had cleared – usually a day or two after purchase. 

Also, payments to the card account are now credited within about 10 minutes. This bit was publicised in the app, but not the immediate adding of ‘pending’ transactions to the balance. 

I suppose it has become more 'real time'  by these changes.

    RBS app here, and I'm pretty sure I saw both changes notified in the app.  I welcome them, but the former does mean that the balance is subject to adjustments as pending transactions become final.
