Halifax Reward current account

Have we had anyone who risked it & got paid yet confirmed?WillPS said:Ed-1 said:
If that was the case then it seems strange that people had problems being paid rewards the last time there was a tracker problem.WillPS said:

You'll find out if it all starts going wrong when the £3 monthly fee gets charged for not paying in the £1,500 early next week. If that fee takes you overdrawn (and as you dont see it charged until the day after it's too late to correct it) then it'll also affect the reward for the following month. Of course, Halifax will have to compensate you to sort it all out.badger09 said:
I did consider that but admit to being a bit curious, & stubborn😉. I would have to withdraw from savings to meet funding requirement again. I’ve already met them once, so if Halifax don’t pay reward on time, I’ll ask for explanation. Perhaps if enough people are affected they’ll sort out whatever glitch caused it.soulsaver said:
@badger09 It may not be too late to bounce £1500 in and out and save lengthy wait on the phone (for £5) if the reward doesn't pay in June...badger09 said:It’s a bit hit & miss this month. On 2/5 I paid in £1790 from external account & £500 by debit card to Barclaycard. Similar transactions every month. Debit card shows 3/5 & qualifies but deposit doesn’t🤔
I’ll see what happens
My theory is that the "tracker" is a service on its own, with its own bugs and quirks, separate from whatever determines whether fees are paid and rewards given.
... so, to confirm, the tracker is not the last word on whether a payment will or wont be paid the last month, and can be safely ignored

Yep. Although I wouldn't really describe it as a risk...Edit: my wife also.2 -
But handy to know for future months. Just to save having to run money through the account more than is necessaryWillPS said:ZeroSum said:

Not used my reward account in ages (year or more?) other than to fund a monthly saver. Doesn't seem worth keeping £5000 in it for £5 per month.0

You should elect for the £500 debit card spend instead next time yours comes up for renewal. Plenty of ways to artificially generate some debit card transactions if you wouldn't spend that much normally. Also means you can put the £5k in an account that pays decent interest!VXman said:Not used my reward account in ages (year or more?) other than to fund a monthly saver. Agreed, £5 for keeping £5000 is an appalling option; effective interest of 1.2% (a little more if you're eligible for a refund on the £1.25 Halifax pay HMRC, and go through the admin of getting it but not worth it by any means). It wasn't a wonderful prospect when it launched (when interest rates were sub-1%) but I'm surprised Halifax haven't reduced the amount needed to be held to at least keep it somewhat competitive.£5 for charging £500 worth of Visa debit transactions was and remains an excellent offer.2

@VXman could probably select that straight away as, I presume, no option has been selected currently.PRAISETHESUN said:
