Means you can add extra maps, holidays for example.
Internal memory: ONE XL GB 512mb, XL Europe 1Gb
    Uk map approx. 200mb
    Europe 900mb
    USA 900mb

So does that mean if you have a TomTom One XL GB model, you can download Europe or US maps onto an SD card and use it in it? Sorry for what is probably a silly question.

I just got my XL (GB one) in today - not had a chance to properly test it, but deffo looks the business - got for £129.99 (Halfords).
Play.com are selling this for £249 at the mo.

I looked into XL and decided against it. The extra size would come in handy but also (unsurprisingly) made it more unwieldy and you wouldn't, for example, be able to slip it into your pocket when you leave your car.

I have to be honest I don't take mine out of the car usually just put it into a hidden compartment.

As you say there are pro's and con's to the XL but if you want to add extra maps the SD card slot make it so much easier.

BUZZBOMB- Use Tomtom Home on your computer, plug in your Tomtom, you'll then be offered extra maps to download over your internet connection. The USA map at the moment is £35.

hi marc5180, you need to o all the way through the payment details put your address etc in and when you get to the payment page you dont need to enter any cc details, put the promotional code in there i can pm you if you want and select the reserve and collect option.

this will then give you a confirmation and allow you to print that. you pay in store.

i picked mine up without any problems, really good service. it was £119.97

hope this explains what you need.
Hi iv tried several times to reserve and collect but i do not get anything saying enter promotional code. 1st stage is collection or delivery then i get find collection store then choose collection store then it asks for my contact details then it says confirmation but not once does it even mention " entering a promotional code" or anything like that.

    I have pm'd you

you need to select home delivery first, then select the free delievry option until you get to the stage where it says enter promotional code.

Then look at the top which is all in black and once it has reduced the price then click on reserve and collect at the top, it is bold and highlighted.

then enter nearest town etc, i have sent you all details.

    Hope you get it.

Thanks for the help unfortunatly now when i try and enter the code i get "The promotion code you have entered is invalid. Please verify the code and try again." iv tried it several times and the code is defo the same on the web....maybe it has expired:confused:
  • Halfords have some excellent deals on satnav at the moment, tho only until Monday I think. I've just ordered a TomTom One Europe Traffic & paid £154.88 minus a further 4% for going through Quidco, so a total of £148.68.

I've found all the info on this topic invaluable (if mind-boggling) - thanks to all of you who take the time to help out.
Boatman, you're a star! (and I may need your help when I try to download updates... :rotfl: )

decided to try and enter the code today and guess what it worked:T. Iv reserved my Tomtom One V3 for collection tomorrow at 119.97.
thanks for all the help guys and gals
  • I'm looking at buying a sat nav as well. I use route planners, but the problem is that people drive around London at 35mph because they know where they are going, and driving at night on the dual carriagway can eaily lead to me missing road signs and certain slip roads (especially where carriageways cross through built up areas and you get the odd lane for turning right).
