Takes me to 7 so far. Hoping to make it to Friday before any spending when I'm meeting friend for breakfast and it's my turn to pay. Wil be doing grocery shopping and petrol top up before then but these are my permitted spends, so long as nothing else ends up in the trolley!

@Couldsavemore "estimate is coming in at 1300. No wonder I can’t get out of debt!"
OUCH!!! 😩
My last car was beautiful, but turned into an expensive and unreliable liability after it developed electronic problems. After breaking down for the umpteenth time, I cut my losses and sold it to a mechanic who had the time and skills to repair it.
I was going away on a month's holiday, so wasn't in a desperate rush to replace it. I thought we'd be able to cope with public transport for a week or so until I found another car.....
It's been six years now, and we never got around to getting another car. Getting the bus to work is quicker, easier and more convenient. Rather than spending 40 minutes in traffic jams and paying for parking, the bus zips along the bus lanes. I can relax and enjoy my coffee, do some Duolingo or read my book- and the bus drops me right outside the office!
Walking and cycling, using trains and buses for bigger journeys, using Railcards and annual tickets to get great deals and getting taxis or hiring specific cars or vans (open-topped luxury sports car for wedding or party weekends, camper van for festival, removal vans for furniture etc) means we can get the vehicle we want as and when we need it.
Running a car is expensive. It's not just the price of a car and petrol, it's all the other expenses like insurance, tax, breakdown cover, maintenance, MOT, repairs, parking charges,....
I worked out that over the last 5 years we've saved at least £15,000- and our sanity!

It's the 13th of February, and so far this month I've had not Unnecessary Spending Days.
So that's 13 No Spend Days so far 🙂
Looks like my teenage son is embracing the idea- he's going out with his friends and made himself a huge packed lunch of panini, falafels, hummus, crisps, fruit, bottles and cans of pop, etc to take with him rather than fork out about £10 from the sandwich shop.
Update- turns out he's told his mates to do the same so they can save the money towards a lads' holiday when their exams are over.3 -
