Day 9 of No Unnecessary Spending, and it seems to be going well so far.
Went out to the theatre last night, but these were tickets bought for me as a present weeks ago.
Took the train but I don't count travel expenses as part of this challenge. Like petrol or car maintenance costs, it's a necessary spend. I don't use a car and only use public transport when I it's too far or inconvenient to walk or cycle.
I did get a good deal on the train by booking early and using a Two Together railcard.
It was a great night out and really made me think about how to prioritise my spending.
I'm aiming for less "clutter" and more experiences.2 -
Just a thought- what is everyone planning for Valentine's Day?
The shops are piled high with Valentine's "gifts", most of it absolute tat, none of them I want to give or receive.
What not-buying ideas have you come up with?1 -

We've been married 30 years in August, and after the first few years we've never bothered with Valentine's Day cards or gifts. Suspect we're just far too cynical to get caught up in it 😀.Worlds_Worst_Superhero said:Just a thought- what is everyone planning for Valentine's Day?
