Another NSD, could be 3 or 4?
Had a lie in. Hung the washing on the line (all my clothes except one thing, which I'd emptied from the bottom drawer & hadn't been in for maybe 3 years! Lots of long sleeved t-shirts I can now wear)
After breakfast me & DH walked just under 5 miles. Read a chapter of my book whilst eating dinner, then I wrapped up & tackled chopping up all the fallen branches from the storms. Have quite a big pile of logs to move to a permanent spot for wildlife & lots of twigs piled up - haven't decided what we're doing with them yet. Was only meaning to be out for half an hour, but stayed for 1.5 hours instead!
Lay on the settee with my phone & a hot chocolate. Planned to do de sewing, but never actually did, as had to collect DS3 from town after tea.
Off for a long soak in the bath now, with some Epsom salts, a face mask & my book!
Thanks for today's post @grandmanerd, I'm continuing to take a Tues night off from sewing, in addition to a Friday, which is helping my mental health & getting off the constant work treadmill 😃
Grateful for seeing a hare on our walk, lots of huge branches cleared, soaking my aching muscles in the bathUse it up, wear it out

Spent the morning on the phone to the Council re grandma's house. Everyone was lovely - I have signed up to be responsible for the bill at grandma's house but the girl is going to get me a discount as it's empty and likely to take a while to sort out. She put me back to the switchboard who put me through to Environmental Services. I asked about getting a key to the Alley gates and she told me to borrow one from my neighbours as it would cost £20 to order one (can borrow niece's as she lives in the same block). I asked if it was possible to have a bulky waste collection (I was just asking) and she agreed straight away. Thinking quickly I requested that the 3 mattresses and the 2 broken bedframes be collected. Signed up but no slots available so I need to phone back early morning until I get a time slot.
Not managed to get through to the gardener yet and am girding my loins to tackle the electric and gas supplier (I want them to come and read the meter and also get smart meters if possible - Beloved will be able to monitor the cost of all the gadgets she uses). Quite a lot of rubbish and recycling out. Cleaned my mask before I came downstairs. Need to start on the pots and rest of the kitchen but I'm starting to flag a bit.
Grateful for delightful Council employees, the bed and the couch (DS3 is not awake yet), ticking off a few extra grooming tasks.10 -

A lot achieved @grandmanerd, hope you go to bed with a smile on your face 😃
Don't feel like I had a restful sleep, not sure if it was vivid dreams, waking with sore muscles or children moving about! Maybe a combination of all 3!
An up & down day at work, think pupils & staff are ready for half term (3 days left to go).
Had a nap when I got home. Watched a TV programme with DS1, then set the sewing machine up.for DS3 to alter a waistcoat, while I shortened some coat sleeves by hand.
Did some Norwegian, will head to bed in a moment.
Grateful for appreciative staff, a calm day (weatherwise), time to colour a pictureUse it up, wear it out

Feed cats, did two loads of laundry (almost my entire wardrobe, except what I was wearing, remembered to do the tea towels also plus the bathroom towels. Today in between everything I indexed 50 years of marriage records for the parish I am working on - it helps when you know what names belong to the parish. Went to the library to sort for Saturday. Had 5 people show up to help - it really made a difference. Going back tomorrow for some more sorting.
Today is putting the trash out day. Got that taken care of. Trying to see what happens with two major frogs as well - sent two letters. I am thankful for having access to a washing machine at home, for records being available on the Internet, for those who came to help today (including a page who moved 8 boxes onto shelves so we could use the cart for shifting other sections. Trying to give several topics carts of their own to make books easier to find.
Hope everyone is avoiding blowing away and staying dry.13 -

This restless sleeping is beginning to become a bit of a habit! Didn't do yoga, but did do some Norwegian practice instead. Managed to read s few pages of my book whilst eating breakfast.
Determined to have better patience today, & it worked. The teacher was ill, so the Head stood in, she was very glad if my help. Between us, we managed to do all in the lesson plan & faff about with technology to get the screen working! Dropped a selling page sale off on my way home.
DH had had washing out on the line & it was quite dry, despite the rain showers, do put it on the airer. After tea, I shortened another lot of coat sleeves, so another bag out the way 😊
DS3 very excited when he came home. Yesterday he'd been to a workshop to help you write a CV. Today was mock interviews with 2 local business owners. Both filled in forms re: feedback & reported him as excellent in all except the handshake (cos the adults didn't offer them). The man was very impressed with DS & has offered him some work experience, with his construction company, potentially leading to an apprenticeship! So we're all super chuffed!
Grateful for lovely light skies to drive to work under, opportunities, DS's excitementUse it up, wear it out

Hello hello,
Work and life have been hectic as ever, hence my fortnight-long absence!
I've been up to stuff in the interim, though: Everything is an asset, including my meagre sewing skills. I fixed a pair of my 2yo's leggings that had developed (another) hole in the knee. I try to fix small holes and tears where I can, particularly in the kids' toys and clothes as I really don't want to throw something out if it can be discretely sewn up – waste of money and time, otherwise!
I'm also still in the process of doing a really meticulous budget for childcare. This is fairly straightforward for nursery fees and after school clubs, but holiday clubs are a bit more variable as we tend to mix and match which one the older child goes to. So I did an average of the three we currently use, excluding any TFCC, worked out what that is in total for the year then divided by 12. Turns out, kids are expensive – who knew!
I've been relaxing with a new TV series (The Tourist, season 2)It's been a bit of a spendy couple of weeks, but I've racked up 5 NSDs so far.
I have to go outside most days to do the school run, but it's half term this week so yesterday I went to the local park/playground with the kids. It was cute to see them playing together and we bumped into some people we hadn't seen in ages, too, which almost made up for the rain!
Still not drinking enough water – the only way I haven't shrivelled up into a prune is the amount of tea I drink!
I'll try to check in at least once more this week.11 -
Just been reading all your updates and wow, you’ve been busy!
My procrastination monster has lurked back in when I wasn’t watching and I’m back in a position of feeling overwhelmed in the house and at work. My own fault. I’ve avoided doing things I should. In the spirit of Forgiveness February, I need to forgive myself and get on with taking control again. I’ve woken this morning feeling up for it.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸10
