Thank you, @elsiepac; as we're back to 4 FT inhabitants & 1 PT (usually 4 nights a week) plus DS3 home for the odd weekend and other family & friends visiting too, I'll have a vague stab at
£500
for February, please, as it is after all a shorter month! This is for all food, cleaning stuff & basic toiletries for us humans; pet & livestock food is from a separate budget & any fancy toiletries etc. can be bought by the individual who wants them. I do buy some things in bulk, for convenience; pasta, flour, oats & potatoes, usually, but usually just lump them into the general grocery budget. There are a number of special dietary requirements; the DDs are both pescatarian, DD1's BF has a very sensitive digestive system (quite genuinely! Has Gilbert's syndrome) & is regularly told not to eat things by his doctors (who don't seem to have much of a clue, really) - last heard he was "off" all dairy, though not allergic. Hopefully wandering around South America for 3 months will have helped. And I seem to need a very high proportion of whole-foods, fruit, veg & fermented stuff (mostly home-made) to function well, having previously had quite a lot of abdominal surgery. We do cook from scratch & also grow or otherwise produce a small proportion of what we eat - more in summer, obviously - but also "suffer" (Not! Generally delighted!) from lots of visiting family & friends, often at short notice & mostly at weekends, as we live in a relatively-warm & scenic area close to the sea. Which also means that there are no low-priced supermarkets nearby...

Hi there I did my budget last month and cut down food shops from (an eye watering) £800 in December to £484. I have to feed 2 adults, 2 teenagers, one of them a growing boy who seems to eat two of everything. We are mostly vegan with some veggie options for DD & DS. I also have a dog that I include in the food budget and he is out of food this month (didn't need any last month). More bulk cooking for me and meal planning and prepping, dog food to buy and so I will stick to the budget I made last month of
£500 for 4 adult (portions) and a dog
