    What is "mickey moues" about the bags from Aldi at £12.98 per 20Kg?
    That price is comparable with the other quotes mentioned above for 20Kg bags from coal merchants?
    And it is manufactured by CPL products who also produce several other well known smokeless fuel briquette brands.

    Are you expecting a bulk delivery to contain some different form of smokeless fuel to the stuff in smaller bags? I don't understand your point.

    The point I am making is that little bags are a rip off!
    And that Aldi coal is £$% to burn any way

    If there’s a product you don’t like… don’t buy it.😉

    A short tonne?
    If it sticks, force it.
    If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

    Ton = 1000 KG

    The 1 Ton bulk bags may not actually be 1ton by weight, Or if it is the bag may actually be sized as 1.5T, 1.8T
  • No I mean one metric tone of proper coal delivered at bulk prices. But I dont think we are going to see any sensabile replies hear today

    Is real coal not an imported product now? With the ban in England the number of suppliers will be down.

    Are you in wales or Scotland?

    Maltby closed in 2013, and the last deep mine in England to close was Kellingly in 2015.
    There are still a handful of smaller mines operating - Three in the Forest of Dean, one in Cumbria, and another in South Wales.

    Only smokless coal and kiln dried logs are permitted now due to the new air quality regs. I would imagine that smokless coal will be phased out in the not too distant future due to the fossil fuel debate.
    Logs do not have to be kiln dried. But they are supposed to meet a certain standard of moisture content.
