Do you think the OP should carry on leaving their door unlocked?

I can well see she would get a surprise and the delivery driver shouldn't have done it. However as a woman alone in the house why on earth was the door unlocked.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

I'm glad someone said that. We're usually well locked up but occasionally an outer door is left unlocked. I don't expect anyone to come wandering in if it is.

There isn't, but locking the door seems like the most effective way of stopping randoms wandering into your house.

Whether we think its ok or not, would not stop them from doing it. I believe the OP came on here for a solution, not sympathy.

I'd say that the majority of people accessing someone else's property without being invited is to steal rather than sexually assault.
Our front and back doors are always locked when we are in the house, even if my husband is the only one in.1 -
