  • That could be easier said than done.

Is it worth putting in an appeal?  What grounds do I have against the leasing company?

    TIA

It may be worth you telling us the name of the leasing company and we could then send them speculative invoices for all sorts of things and they will just pay us.

The lease company has not paid a "fine" for you. They have paid an unregulated private parking company who sent them an "invoice" for an alleged breach of contract. The private company is not an authority or the police and they have no powers to "fine" you into paying an alleged debt.

Fines are penalties imposed by governmental authorities or the police for violating laws or regulations. They are typically associated with administrative or criminal offences, such as traffic violations or regulatory compliance.

A PCN is just an invoice from a private commercial company.

Do as @Coupon-mad has told you and tell your credit card company to stop the payment as it is in dispute.

Yes. I know the status of the PCN.  I've mentioned already that it is Leaseplan.

Payments are not made by credit card and I am concerned that their terms contain an indemnity.

So, should I make am appeal in parallel to complaining to Leaseplan?
  • Just an edit to the above post.  Leasing company are saying that G24 (PCN company) refused to accept the transfer of liability.

    You can't appeal.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

Thanks.  Any thoughts on LP saying that G24 refused the transfer of liability?

Can you get a copy from LP of that refusal by G24?
Not only will that be useful to you, but would help a lot of other people too.

I've asked.  I suspect that it is not true.

Can they refuse the transfer?  Would seem to make a mockery of the entire system.

They can only refuse the transfer if the transferee fails to acknowledge anything sent to them by the parking company. In that case, liability remains with the Registered Keeper.

Thanks.  The Lessor provided details of the driver.  Nothing else has been received.
