What about payments in on the actual date of their letter confirming switch complete.  For example my switch confirmation letter was dated 12 Feb and I paid in several amounts on that day totalling £795.  I have today made 2 payments totalling £300.  So should this cover it?

    Thanks.

    M99
Seems to have done the trick.  Email today saying £100 paid in, although its not there yet!
    :)
The payment seems to follow in a few hours as was the case for me and a couple of others on here
The £100 has now appeared - thanks guys.  :)

My account is open and I’ve sent £30 to maintain a balance. I have the direct debits in place and have pushed ample funds in and out to satisfy that requirement.

I now need to use my debit card 5 times and I don’t recall receiving my PIN. It may be that I selected one during the opening process but that seems unlikely. Could someone confirm that the PIN arrives separately as per most/all other accounts? I’ll have to contact them if I need a reminder.

(savings account also opened but awaiting its appearance on the app)

    Thanks.
yup my pin arrived in the post some days later
It seems that I need to ring them to arrange a PIN reminder. 10 minutes on hold and I’ve had to give up for the day as I’m off out tonight.

I‘m getting a bus so I’ll try using contactless but I’m expecting it to reject as I’ve obviously never used the PIN.

I’ve had the card for a couple of weeks so I should have thought about the PIN sooner.
The card didn’t work on the bus yesterday but I used Apple Pay to buy a banana on the card today and that went through. I will call them but it seems that there isn’t the urgency I at first thought.

Was going to say - if only they could see how many bananas had been purchased. They’d think it were a bunch of monkeys after the switch bonuses!

No five a day for us, pork pie from Taylors twice, bread and TV guide from Co-op once, and finally weekend shop from Aldi, all normal stuff done over 5 days...not a banana in sight😁.
  • Hi
I am interested in trying this.  I was/am an existing Co-Op current account holder.  I made a referral in December, so got paid the referral bonus.

Am I right, that the assumption is someone in my shoes is eligible for this new offer, when switching in another current account to a new second Co-Op account?  Has anyone done this and successfully received the switch incentive?

I know people were saying that Co-Op might interpret things differently, so a bit reluctant to go to the trouble of switching if the switch incentive might end up not being paid.

    Thx in advance.

The switch incentive terms only say that you need to have been paid the initial £100 and meet the other conditions to get paid the £50 savings bonus. It's probably against the spirit of the offer to close the current account, but I don't see anything that definitively says it needs to remain open. Unsure if you'd have issues operating the savings account without the current account though, say to withdraw your savings bonus once paid  ;)
As long as access to the list of your previous payees doesn't disappear when the current account switches I don't think there'd be a problem withdrawing from savings.
