I have to wait until 29 March  before getting the £50
  • Can I ask, are there many people who feel they have covered all of the criteria of the switch offer ie. switch, transferring  £1000 in, 2 standing orders, 5 debit card transactions, who haven’t received their £100 yet? I’m deciding whether to contact them as I’ve not got the payment yet....

I would suggest to you and anyone who is concerned, that you find the well hidden secure message facility, and message asking them to check your account to see if you've qualified, or ring them and wait on hold for a long time to get a similar result...I prefer messaging as then the response is there for future reference if required.

Only in online banking, not via the app. Look for a 'Help and Support tab", that should lead you to access secure messaging.

My wife has today started a switch to RBS, her tracker saver is still open and funded, so we'll await further developments on that side...we decided that by the time her £50 Is paid in late March the NatWest group offer may be withdrawn, so rather than risk waiting, she'd prefer to have the £200 from them in the bag and chance not getting the £50.

So why not open another donor account and switch that? NatWest doesn't need any DD etc

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

As part of the switch to RBS, did your wife get to choose the switch date or did they pick one for you?

So far there has been no option to choose a switch date, whether that will change after she gets confirmation that her application has been completed and the account is open we don't know ( currently at the reserved account stage pending checks).

Simply because she doesn't want to, we've both been doing this for years, and are both getting a bit jaded with the ever more complicated processes, and being well into our seventies are trying to simplify life and not juggle too many balls at once😉
