ant help pleaseI'm going to go out on a limb and suggest her smart meter installer needs retraining.Or possibly didn't want to spend the extra time doing her slightly-more-complicated installation. If she was posting here herself, I'd suggest that she should raise a complaint with her supplier.N. I had an appointment to have a smart meter fitted yesterday. Scottish Power Comfort Plus White Meter in Fife. Engineer arrived to tell me he can't replace my meter because they haven't got a meter that will replace my setup. He did say they are trialling meters but they were not readily available. I phoned Scottish Power in an attempt to speak to someone that knows what's going on. Eventually I was informed a member of the metering team would contact me to explain what's happening. This could take about six days. If I glean anything significant I'll post again. That was her post and then put she has 7 wires from RTS meter
my meter picture below shows 6 wires0 -
Trace your wires.I suspect you have three pairs:One pair coming from your incoming supply. One pair to your storage heater fuse box.One pair to your "everything else" fuse box.If this is what you've got, a regular smart meter will work.N. I’m getting isolation switch fitting at the end of the month … I’ll ask the engineer to help … it’s very high up for me to see properly and I don’t like ladders very much
that’s why a smart will be much better for me ..no more trying to read it0 -
I can't see what cables are connected to your meter. There appear to be something between 5 and 8, so a clearer picture showing where they go into the meter and where they come from/lead to would help. I doubt, though, that there will be any difficulty exchanging it for a five-port smart meter - assuming, of course, that there isn't another meter somewhere for a 24-hour heating circuit like many RTS systems have.I'm not being lazy ...

Any idea what the 6 are.My house had three circuits essentially when on RTS - the normal sockets / lights - one RTS output driving the HW immersion - and one RTS output driving the NSH.So 3 separate lives. Not the normal 2 on a 5 port meter. My RTS was a meter and not just a switch - so it had no (well not connected) low rate selection output to drive a meter - like those shown in photos for some older meters - like some old analogue or early digital Ampy 5196 D / L+G 5235D type twin rate metering. The meter fitter had to common up the two separate RTS lives - so my 5 port meter restricted output drove both - one simple "Henley Block" as a minimum - but in my case there's a multi output isolator switch used insteadAssuming you've posted pictures of your set-up in one of the many threads - can you post a link to it again ?0

That’s the other side of meter cupboard
it’s not clear what is what to me
definitely only one meter in there0 -
@Rosie1001 Your 6 wires coming out of your meter was explained to you in your other thread, you just have 2 Neutral wires coming out of the N meter port. Having more than one wire coming out of meter ports (L & N) was quite common in quite old installations. These days, it's not permitted, so when meters are changed Henley blocks are used to couple groups of wires.
So going by your post above now, it's unclear if it's your friend or you have changed supplier from EDF to Scottish Power?
@Scot_39 I'm not clear from your post above if you now have a 5-port smart meter?1 -
