It’s a big decision to move house. It makes perfect sense to think about it rather than rushing…
it sounds as if you’re doing great with sorting things out and decluttering 👍January spends - £587.581 -
I really don’t want to leave my garden 😟and DDs flat is up three flights of stairs so I don’t want to get into a situation where I’m stuck in the flat because I can’t manage the stairs, she is really keen for me to move in with her and I think she’s just panicking because I’m here on my own, I’ve suggested that I can spend time there if I’m feeling a bit poorly for now. I’ve also still got the chicken in the garden so need to consider that too. The decluttering has got to the stage where I wish I hadn’t started because it’s was all in the way 😀I managed to condense it down now so it’s piled up in a corner until it goes to the charity shop. The aim is to get rid of anything and everything if it’s not needed or useful. I’ve literally collected all my books to go because I’ll never read them again and they are just collecting dust with I really don’t need😀foxgloves said:You do need a bit of time to make a big decision like that, OBL, I agree.
I read your post & feel really inspired to resume my decluttering. I got off to a good start, but then it sort of fizzled out. It is so good moving stuff on that has just been sitting around doing nothing but take up space, isn't it? You'll enjoy your room when it's finished. Love a lick of paint for freshening the place up.

Thanks SA I’m getting used to the idea that I have to keep stopping to rest. I’m looking forward to getting my walking pad which should be arriving tomorrow, I really need to regain the fitness I lost from when I was ill last year and not walking so much so I think it will help. DD2 is such a thoughtful person 🙂we had a good chat about it yesterday and I told her I didn’t want her to feel like she has to take me in but she said she likes living with me and really doesn’t mind. I told her I would definitely think about it but that I’m not quite ready to give up my garden yet so hopefully another summer here and we will think about it again. That also gives me time to finish the jobs on the house. DD1 also offered for me to go there but then said it would be good because I would be a built in babysitter 😬I think she was joking 🙄 I would struggle there though because it’s very hectic with the kids and she is married so I would have to bite my tongue quite a bit I think 😀Sun_Addict said:I think you’re doing really well even if it’s in short bursts, much better than not progressing at all. Get you with your home gym 💪 When DS moved out within 2 weeks we’d converted his room to a gym 😆
Moving in with DD is something to consider as an option for the future should you need to. It’s lovely of her to offer.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8943 -
Yeah it’s a massive decision but like I said to DD there’s no immediate rush so I’m going to take my time and look at my options to see which is best. I definitely want to stay here for this summer and enjoy my garden while I can 🙂milann said:It’s a big decision to move house. It makes perfect sense to think about it rather than rushing…

I think the rheumy consultant is right that the steroids are masking my symptoms because they have got noticeably worse in the last couple of days. don’t normally have the chronic cough but I’ve been coughing a lot more than usual and my chest feels wheezy and irritated. It could be the tree pollen that’s all over my garden at the moment or it could be from being in the loft and all the dust from that. I know my chest is and always has been very easily irritated so anything could set it off. I was on the bus earlier and a man got on whose aftershave was really getting to me so I think I’m going to have to start carrying some masks around with me. I also bought some washing up liquid from M&S ( don’t normally buy it there it was an emergency 😀 ) and it smells divine but it’s really affecting my chest so that will have to go.Anyway yesterday I met my sister for breakfast and a good chinwag which was lovely. I overindulged on the food though by buying the large vege breakfast and my god it was huge, I did manage to eat it all but I didn’t need to eat for the rest of the day😀. I also went to the carpet shop and chose my carpet so they are coming to measure up on Monday. I wasn’t looking forward to going in there because I find it hard to make a decision but I was literally in there for about 10 minutes, the man showed me the ones in my price range and I told him I wanted a creamy beige so he flipped to those colours and I picked it out in minutes 😀so that’s a job doneToday i had to pop into the surgery to reorder my inhalers so walked down there then caught the bus just up the road to go and meet my friend for coffee. We had a good catch up so that was nice then she dropped me home. I gave the kitchen a good clean and managed to squeeze more recycling in the bin, it’s nearly full now though and won’t be emptied until next week. I sorted out all the bits of decorating stuff in my room and swept the floor so that it’s clear for the carpet man to measure up on Monday and tomorrow I’m going to start on the wardrobe the it’s finished.
I also spoke to my boss yesterday and told her I want to try for ill health retirement so she is going to speak to HR and email me the info. I was completely honest and said I’m scared to go back to work due to the infection risk which she understood and I said there is a chance I will be given supplemental oxygen if my lung function stays as it is so we had a laugh about me working on the ward with an oxygen tank on my back 😀 I told her about the new plan and that I was going to ask my gp to keep me signed off until I’ve had my next lot of tests and seen the consultant and she agreed with that so that phone call was a bit more positive than normal. I phoned my gp today and she has now signed me off until June the 4th. Hopefully my appointment will come through by the end of May beginning of June then I can sort out my job out and plan accordinglyOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8945 -
Glad you have been signed off and are thinking that work may have to stop due to your health. I hope the next appointment comes through soon.
Would DD consider moving into your house?Me, DD1 20, DS 18, DD2 15, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/194 -
From the sounds of all you have been doing to your house, you are a long way from needing to move in with anyone. I would enjoy your house, garden and independence for now, and consider other options as and when needed. Should the time come when you can't manage where you are, there will be plenty of options to consider, including simply selling your house and buying somewhere more accessible. All the best.3

Glad you had a positive conversation with your boss."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

It’s more to do with the issues with the house. It’s prone to mould which isnt too good for my health, this is the main reason she wants me to move out. I’m mainly getting the jobs done so it’s ready to sell as soon as I decide to move. The mould has all been treated now and has been gone for nearly a year so I’m hoping it won’t come back, it’s only in the bedrooms on the ceiling and I think it’s because the insulation is rubbish so as soon as I get the done it should help 🤞🤞DawnW said:From the sounds of all you have been doing to your house, you are a long way from needing to move in with anyone.
