There are reviews on the ebuyer site for it, all seem positive - who knows though? The way I look at it if it works after a month it's bound to work for at least 2-3 years which works out at £2 a week. Remember when TVs were £600-800?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. I find LCD TV's quite poor in visual quality - and a bit blurry with fast action on screen....I guess its the norm? I also find the viewing angle (especially on the cheap ones) quite limited. The only 1/2 decent ones I see are still VERY expensive. Plasma is a bit better IMHO
I still have a CRT TV - good enough for me and decent picture quality. Hopefully by the time I REALLY need to replace it the quality will have improved enough for me to be tempted.
couldnt agree more...i wouldnt change a CRT for an LCD unless you need the space...just not impressed with LCD's...plasma for me anytimeStevie Coppell's record breaking blue and white royal army - championship winners 2005-60 -

Can't post Which? recomendations but can post Don'ts
Of all of the TVs currently on test, 7 of them have been awarded the dreaded status of a Which? Don't Buy.
Sagem AXIUM HD-L32 T/2
Its standard definition picture lets it down and it's poor for stills too. Sound quality is below par as well - 'poor, rough and a chore to listen to', reckoned our listeners.
LG 42PC1DA-EC
Our expert panel felt this was one of the worst big-screen displays to pass through our laboratory in recent times. Very poor detail in dark sequences and poor colour reproduction doesn't get much better when watching in HD.
Atec AV371DS
This woeful 37-inch HD-ready LCD from ATEC is difficult to use. Picture and sound quality are below average and if that wasn't enough, it's horribly power hungry too.
Marks & Spencer MS 3210DVB001
Stick to the M&S food hall and don’t buy this awful TV.
Acoustic Solutions LCD32805HD
This appalling 32-inch LCD is one of the worst TVs we’ve ever tested, scoring a meager 1 star in the standard viewing tests and a terrible overall score of only 26.
Hannspree JT01-32E2-000G
This ‘Don’t Buy’ basic 32-inch LCD from Hannspree has such poor picture quality, we recommend you avoid it. It’s lacking in features too.
Daewoo DLT-32C3
There’s not much chance of this 32-inch LCD IDTV from Daewoo setting the TV world alight – we’d advise you not to buy it.
i wouldnt take any notice of which....they are a joke imo.....look at how they rate their tv's then laugh......
picture quality - 40% what!!!??
sound - 20% - why so high
ease of use 20% - why so high-its a tv, not the space shuttle
features - 10% - what? who cares about pip, etc
power use - 5% - power varies very little between LCD's/plasmas anyway
digital TV features 5% - eh? it has freeview built in or it doesnt
so, a tv with freeview, that is lower on power use, has all the features known to man, is easy to use and sounds great, but has a crap picture can still get a best buy award rating of over 60%......therefore i unsubscribed my free subscription within a day...load of rubbish
to me it should be
pq - 85%
sound - 10% - important to some but not me as i use an onkyo av amp and kef speakers, so 10% added to PQ for me (awesome)
connectivity - 5%
they mark down all plasmas not because of the picture quality but because they reckon they use more power (which is debatable) than LCD's, also my pioneer kuro which i bought after reading their review - they awarded it a best buy with the only negative was the remote is heavy (ah diddums) - its as though they had to find a fault! - actually its a weapon!!
read their reviews and it becomes apparent that cut and paste is a common factor in their reviews...shocking
i would read proper reviews in what hifi s+v, cnet, etcStevie Coppell's record breaking blue and white royal army - championship winners 2005-60 -

It depends on how far away you sit from the screen - LCD's are beginning to match and even out perform plasma's now.
Of course you are going to notice blocks and imperfections on a 50 inch screen when you are sat two feet away from it!!!
Its all relative - think where you are when you are watching the set and take that into consideration. Sure, there are some cheap poor performing sets out there, but use the internet to check out reviews and other people's opinions before buying.
LCD's are getting better and better..certainly in this price range.0 -

i agree that LCDs are getting better, but come on until last year they were awful...my old 32in panasonic CRT is still better than most LCDs...LCD's are not a patch on pioneer or panasonic plasmas...my 42in pioneer kuro plasma doesnt suffer blocks (even on standard definition via my non-hdmi virginmedia box), nor does the pioneer 50in kuro plasma or the pansonics for that matter..even if you are right next to it.....LCDs ive seen do suffer esp when motion gets crazy... i know, i looked at every lcd/plasma on the market during my 12 month search (took so long as i initially decided to buy an LCD rather than plasma...but ended up being disapointed until i looked at panasonic plasmas, then i saw the pioneer and after an hours viewing in a decidated customer demo room my 12mth hunt was over)
oh, i have an LCD too so im not biased, its 1 month old but its crap
depends what size you are after tho...under 32in and you have to suffer the LCDs...over 32in and LCDs get worse...why do you think panasonic only produce LCDs up to 37inStevie Coppell's record breaking blue and white royal army - championship winners 2005-60 -
Was in large Tesco's the other day. There were at least 50 slim tvs and 8 CRT tvs on display. The picture quality of the CRTs was in a different league to the thin tvs; it was incredibly better. At present we seem to be going backwards in quality as we change to digital.
The technology needs to improve. The thin tvs are much more convenient but even the best Panasonics couldn't compare with the CRTs. I need a new tv and feel compelled to buy digital but I am not happy with what seems to be on offer.0 -
Makro are selling Sony Bravia for £399
They are also doing a Samsung 37" for £399 - admittedly you have to add VAT but if you buy through a business or company you get that back.
Hope this helps someone!!0 -
