Is this any good - comments please my OH wants to buy!

I would go for the 32" JVC from Argos - bought one for the F.I.T. earlier this week. Picture is better than my Sony!

    Same price £399

  • Can't post Which? recomendations but can post Don'ts

Of all of the TVs currently on test, 7 of them have been awarded the dreaded status of a Which? Don't Buy.

    Sagem AXIUM HD-L32 T/2
Its standard definition picture lets it down and it's poor for stills too. Sound quality is below par as well - 'poor, rough and a chore to listen to', reckoned our listeners.
    LG 42PC1DA-EC
Our expert panel felt this was one of the worst big-screen displays to pass through our laboratory in recent times. Very poor detail in dark sequences and poor colour reproduction doesn't get much better when watching in HD.
    Atec AV371DS
This woeful 37-inch HD-ready LCD from ATEC is difficult to use. Picture and sound quality are below average and if that wasn't enough, it's horribly power hungry too.
    Marks & Spencer MS 3210DVB001
Stick to the M&S food hall and don’t buy this awful TV.
    Acoustic Solutions LCD32805HD
This appalling 32-inch LCD is one of the worst TVs we’ve ever tested, scoring a meager 1 star in the standard viewing tests and a terrible overall score of only 26.
    Hannspree JT01-32E2-000G
This ‘Don’t Buy’ basic 32-inch LCD from Hannspree has such poor picture quality, we recommend you avoid it. It’s lacking in features too.
    Daewoo DLT-32C3
There’s not much chance of this 32-inch LCD IDTV from Daewoo setting the TV world alight – we’d advise you not to buy it.

    I survived the M8 snowjam 6/12/10 - 17 hrs to get home :snow_grin

Brought: To Bring! Bought: To Buy! ;)
  • I have been told that there were LCD 32" with freeview in B&M yesterday, I have turned up to see it myself but I was late 4.15 pm (closed 4pm)

Worth checking your local B&M tomorrow at least see which brand is it?

I'll report tomorrow about the brand etc if I find it, anybody find it in you local store please post the brand name and spec here.

    regards

i've been looking at this one too - its a smart looking tv- it seems to have excellent reviews we have found it cheaper with dixons (£10 code off) £419.00 + quidco

however John Lewis have it £449. theres a £20 code knocking around + quidco but the best with this is that JL give a 5 year warranty free with purchase

  • Hey this is my first post and im not exactly a techno whizz but ive been looking for a 32 inch lcd t.v and came across this one http://www.directtvs.co.uk/Teco_TA3271RW_32_Inch__HD_Ready_LCD_TV_TA3271RW/version.asp

Seems to be a pretty good price for the spec with 3 years warranty and freeview intergrated..
I know its not a big brand like a sony but with a 3 year warranty can you really go wrong?
Also i dont need freeview so i was looking at this one ..also a 32 inch
    http://www.directtvs.co.uk/Mirai_DTL-332M200_DTL-332M200/version.asp

Also as about, not a huge brand name but a decent enough spec and 3 years warranty..Any thoughts people?

PLUS John Lewis will price match won't they?
Green and minimal chemicals is the new black- I know a fair old bit about sustainability, specially energy and transport stuff. If I can help- please ask!

What about a Bush 32" from Argos
    http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/catalogId/1500000701/partNumber/5292356.htm

I work for Argos and see TVs going out AND coming back

This TV is the top seller in Argos at this screen size and is cvurrently out of stock at alot of stores due to the demand.

We have one set up instore along with other brands (Samsung, Phillips, Sony, Acoustic Solutions, JVC etc) The picture quality is brilliant is it rivals the quailty of the Samsung TV's. The Bush and Samsung TVs are really good.

Most stores should have this one on display in stores if you want to have a look or even play about with the remote too.:T
