DP had his payslip. Bonus was as expected. However he's been taxed loads more than we'd worked out. Really annoying and frustrating. We are down by 400 and something on my calculations (closer to five hundred )😕
Have had to re-work the budget to make it work. I contacted some more removals yesterday to get some other quotes in. Also looked up reviews on the cheapest quote we've had so far. Seems he's a new business and undercutting everyone to build up good feedback online. He's been running for a year according to companies house (isn't it amazing what you can find about people online). So I'm not dismissing him anymore as I think he's undercharging but still doing a good job. Might be the break we need here...bonus is 400 odd less than we thought. His quote is 400 odd less than the others. It could cancel out the money we're missing without needing to stress over finding more before we complete.
Need to chase solicitors up today on advice of the estate agent for those enquiries.
DP is away till tomorrow so I will be on my own all day until tomorrow. My intention is to scrub the house clean! We shall see though...I'll let you know if I manage it later on.
I see I have some more money ready to cash out on surveys. I've done really well this week had nearly fifty quid out of surveys through vouchers and cash. And still lots pending.
Ordered food for DP and I for payday tomorrow. £105 I think it came to. Pretty good considering it was full of fresh organic stuff which seems to cost the earth these days.
Right I'll be off for now but probably be back later as will check for more surveys in between cleaning.

Had one removals ring me just as I was about to get on and have them booked for a quote for next week.
I rang the solicitors rather than pop in and the enquiries were received yesterday but we shouldn't expect to have them passed on to us until next week. Hmm. Everything moves so slowly. I kind of wish we'd used the solicitors in the city now as they were so on the ball with my last sale and passed things on almost immediately after receiving them. This one seems to be a one week turnaround on everything 🙄.MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Well I've achieved quite a lot. But not really what I was wanting to achieve 🤣 I get so easily distracted. Anyway I achieved a work out and felt shattered after 🥵 so had some breakfast cereal (well bran flakes not really sure they're even classed as food -yuk) in a bid to use some bits up in the cupboard. That's when I got distracted and started emptying food out of the cupboard (my excess stuff on the out of reach shelf) to refill the jars I see and can reach in the kitchen. Pleasantly surprised I had lots more stuff than I thought. So will start to eat that down now before ordering anything else in a bid to reduce moving with excess food.
I needed to put a wash on because the full washing basket was staring at me so that went on in between this. Then I found crisps nearly out of date so made a note and put them out the front (all one flavour that clearly no one likes) and would you believe no one took them 🤣 loads of people walk by here. So I messaged a friend across the road as it's clouding over and threatening rain, she eats them as do all her kids so I popped over there and dropped them and got distracted some more chatting.
Got back home and my other neighbour pulls up I ask if she eats some other dairy bits in the fridge as the kids left them behind and they will be binned because of the short date. So got distracted there with more chats.
House is still a mess. Although my kitchen is clean I always keep on top of that one at least. So is the dining room. And I've sprayed the bathroom ready for cleaning.
I do have a wash on too.
I've eaten and exercised.
Also booked in two more removals quotes. One wanted to do it over the phone so I've had to download their app 😲 that's a new one on me. I suspect they will be the highest quote of all. They're national and a huge name. I was intrigued though I'll admit, I wanted to see just how big a difference the quotes can get. 🤣
Right maybe I will try and do some cleaning now. After all that was the only thing on my list today 🤣
And still need to check in on surveys and cash some money out.

I've got over £30 in a savings pot now waiting on my item to turn up next and once I know it is in good order I will send the money over. Only need another £17 to pay it all off. I have £10 that is on it's way to my PP now so only £7 actually
I have cleaned the washing machine and tumble dryer filters out today, downstairs is clean and tidy now too. I will do upstairs tomorrow. And all caught up on the washing.
DP seems to be having fun at his conference thing and is staying the night, they are laying on food and drinks...meanwhile I am eating all leftovers before our shop is due tomorrow. I've had some interesting meal concoctions over the last few days that is for sureMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. We made it to payday!
Our shopping is due later thank goodness as I don't have very much in the way of fresh in aside from some apples and one banana
Looks like rain outside so I might get dressed and take the dog out early.
DP had a good time last night and was happy that they put on vegan version of fish'n'chips and mushy peas for him and some other veggies...he thought they'd be stuck eating chips only. This wouldn't bother me, but he probably spends half his waking life thinking about his stomach *where is the rolley eyed emoji* so I am sure he was happy
Going to tackle the kids bedrooms today and tidy them before I have the first removals quoter coming round tomorrow. If you were to look at the state of the rooms you'd see ten times the amount of stuff then there actually is because they are both so messy!
I am just itching to get started on packing but I know there is no point starting too early or I will be stuck living in an empty shell with boxes all around me (done this too many times and it's miserable). So once again I am sat twiddling thumbs......even if I were at work I would be broken up for summer now so would still be sat twiddling thumbs......at least I would have been paid though, kinda regretting quitting quite so early
Talking of jobs DD has been applying to jobs in the city. From the moment she turned 16 she was on indeed. She applied for 25 in a day. DS was laughing at her and I was like why?? She's trying to get some cash that's great! And he said....because she's applied for the assistant manager job at Mr S, a secretary job in an office, a receptionist in the doctors and as the local lifeguardI loved the fact that she was brave enough to not care and just applied but when I questioned her as to how she'd fit in learning a new full time job (cos let's face it she is not qualified for any of them) with school she said she hadn't even considered that. So I said maybe next time scan the ad and look for part time hours
it was funny though.

Love how they learn, you can see the cogs going round when you ask the question and then the light bulb goes on. At least she is happy to apply and get a job, nothing wrong with that.
Fingers crossed you get a date for moving soon. Not fun being in limbo at the moment. I never understood how it took so long to buy a house - sure there is a reason, but must be able to make it simplerMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

DP is home. We've shuffled money around and feel poor again 😂 it's for the best that we move most money out of the current account though otherwise we think we're rich when it's all accounted for.
I've ordered myself some new cream for my face and neck. I've been putting it off all last month and used up all extra leftovers that I had in my cupboard. I've been using body cream for the last four days 😂 that's how money saving I've been. I used a new email address and got 20% off too. I also bought some other bits I've been putting off like some nail polish and nail files and a body brush. So basically a few hours into our new month I am 3/4 of the way through my pocket money 🙃🙂 one day I will get to the stage where I have a pot for these spends because they're toiletries I guess...but for now as they're surplus to need and are more a want they come from pocket money.
We have the money needed for conveyancing and removals now 😁
I have almost reached £2000 on my extra EF too!
Although I've been feeling a little down lately about our money situation because of all the money slipping through my fingers here there and everywhere. To put it into perspective for myself though I've managed to save, since January, £5,500 thereabouts. And paid for all the expensive birthdays which usually go on credit card or catalogues or buy now pay later. So all in we've saved upwards of £6k and I have zero debt so I'm holding that in mind today and going to remember that once we've moved our pots can be replenished, our savings will grow and all will be okay 😁MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. I don't understand it either slm and when I asked if we would have the enquiries by Friday she scoffed and laughed with a 'i shouldn't think so it's already Wednesday!' 😒 what??? I don't understand how it takes that long to read the email and forward to me for me to respond to the questions. Sheesh. Kids rooms cleaned ✔️
House plants either showered in shower or put outside for a hose down (easiest way to dust this Many plants) ✔️
Ironing done ✔️
Washing done✔️
Bored waiting for Mr T delivery ✔️
Caught up on emails, post, and not much else to do really so back on here to catch up with diaries.
I don't know how people stay at home all day without kids to look after and no job- what do you do all day....I need some ideas to occupy myself. I was renovating the house before which is why I only had the part time job when I went back ...but now I have neither to do 😐
Perhaps I should pay for a netflicks subscription or something and occupy the time in a box set .....
Right anyway I can hear the washing has finished will peg it out.MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06.
