Hugs for the family holes x
Good that you are building a new connection with your dad and interesting insight about being like him … 🤔
Sorry to hear that your foot is hurting again. The fact that you not wearing heel pads yesterday seems to have made it worse is something I would mention to your physio friend.Soooo hear you on the go out for just a short time, come back, hunker down and hibernate for the test if the evening!! 😉😂
Hope the breakfast was delicious ❤️

There may be a delay in interviews if there is a lot of sickness about at work. Especially as you were asked to consider the job. Don't give up hope quite yet.
We had our school social last night that I organised. School finished at 4, meal at the local pub at 4.30pm finished by 6.30pm so the young ones could go straight into town and the rest of us could be home by 7pm, or like 1 member of staff she went on to do her weekly tesco shop! It went really well and everyone was happy.
Sorry about DS2, I do feel that when the novelty has worn off and XP's true colours start to show he will be back, but I understand that it doesn't make the hole in your life any better at the moment so take some time to acknowledge the gap but try not to let it ruin the festivities as you still have everyone else around you to celebrate with.

Morning all,
Thanks @KajiKita @slm6002 🫂
Breakfast was delicious yesterday 🤤
I had a nice chilled day and then went to meet work colleagues in the most low vibing, noisiest place in town, I think. Only four of us turned up. Me being hard of hearing had a nightmare trying to follow any sort of sensible conversation and I kept mishearing everything. 🤦🏻♀️ The food was meh and overpriced. And the G&T's were the highlight 🤣🤣. I had gone in with DP and he went off Xmas shopping 🛍️ ...I messaged him about an hour in and said I was done when he was. It wasn't the company it was the venue, it was horrible. So busy, noisy, rowdy. Nah. Pass. Went home with DP about an hour and half in and wasn't even sorry really 🤭. ....and DD and her friend were at home when we returned. Making the gingerbread house I'd bought for her. DD hadn't seen friend in months. So, I felt DP and I were in the way ...we have one reception room now as we used the other as DP office. No real regret on doing that until the odd time we wish we had two 🤣. I said to DP let's go out and leave them be for a bit. So went to a pub. Not quite as noisy as the first venue but still noisy. Was feeling a tad overwhelmed by this point..we moved tables into the back restaurant which was empty and only supposed to be used if you're eating. We ordered nuts. 🙈 Was nice and quiet there and we stayed a bit longer before going home, camping up in our room with pjs, water, and a laptop to watch a movie. It was fun and quiet and nice actually 😊.
I got a good sleep in, only woke up three times. Slept till nearly 9 🤭😃. We finished a movie we started last night with tea, fruit and nuts (and yukky tincture for me) for breakfast.
I'm about to get dressed then we're watching a Christmas movie 😃 as later on we're off to the cinema to watch the second one.
I plan to make a soup and curry out of a butternut squash later too.
I've booked in another friend for lunch out with. I'm not entirely sure how I'm going to pay for this 😬 I did suggest my house but she wanted to eat out. I have spent all the fun money on Bath, yesterday and nowt left now. Oops. Might have to borrow from EF. Going out is so expensive.
I'm also meeting another friend for a Xmas drink on the 22nd. Perhaps I'll try and get some surveys in. 🤔
I have a £50 voucher from work but not sure what to use it for. Shopping for food probably then I can borrow the £50 from the food budget to pay for going out 🤔 I'll think on this. I rarely see my friends so don't really want to cancel festivities.
One week left at work then two off. Tomorrow I'm on official countdown 😃. Can't wait.
Gym and swimming has fallen by the wayside. I was supposed to go today but honestly, nah, I'm going to try and get sessions back up when we're off for hols. If the gym is open. I know I should be using it but I'm just about surviving on what energy I have and I'm not at that place where the gym energises me (I was then got sick and need to work back up to it again 🤔😖).
Money spent - too much and I've no idea how much exactly at this point. Hopefully just some snacks later for the cinema and I reckon I can probably bring that from home. Enjoying all our days out though it makes a change from poor DFW who wouldn't usually be able to even afford the Xmas presents never mind a trip out. And we've had a weekend away, trips out and out and about with friends and colleagues. I'd usually have to cry off all these because of lack of money. I am out of money now though 🤔 but I do have money in savings so that's something. I'd usually have cleared that already by now 🙈. Grateful for all we've been able to do this Christmas it's cheered me up no end which has been a great distraction for me.

I've cooked a batch of creamy butternut squash soup, and curry. We've had one portion of curry and we have another left. So I foresee a lot of butternut squash over the next week or so 😂🤭.
Cinema - I got the wrong time, it starts an hour after I thought and I thought that was late enough 🙈😂. DD is driving us there and I think DP might drive us back as DD will be tired, she's had a busy week and worked all weekend too. She seems keen to get some driving experience in though. I'll let her drive the main route rather than down country roads the way I would usually go. So we'll leave a bit earlier (and there is still a tonne of country roads that way but at least they're two track roads rather than single).
Late start at work tomorrow so perhaps I'll get another lie in.
I'm almost at the point where I'm ready to say I've bought everything for Christmas but I just want to do one more look through the presents - I didn't do it yesterday.Emergency Fund- £717.773 -
how you getting on making a room into a TV room? Couldn't you, or they if they weren't cooking still, have gone there

@daisy_1571 Up until about two hours ago it was piled with boxes and boxes of books, pictures, frames, an upturned dining sofa, mattress and desk. 😬 DP has worked really hard to empty it all, not sure where to, don't want to ask. But it's now just got a dining sofa and mattress for ds1 when he stays. We ran out of steam, money and time really to get It finished in time for Christmas. So that will be finished off after Christmas now. When that's done we will have the spare reception room again.daisy_1571 said:how you getting on making a room into a TV room? Morning all,
DD drove us there and back last night. But was getting quite cocky on the way back which wasn't good as I'd taken her the shorter route which was quite a horrible bendy road in the pitch black. DP and I both ended up having to tell her not to do something or other and this resulted in her sulking. I'd rather her sulk and be alive and well though than let her get away with being cocky and an accident.
Movie was good but I was super tired when I got back. I think DP was wired and had trouble sleeping. Glad to say no late night stuff this week. We've had fun doing each activity but why does everything have to be in the same week 🤭🙈.
Work today, hopefully nice and easy and my shortest day. Last Monday until new year. My students were all sick last week so hopefully they're all in today. Otherwise it's a bitty day with me here there and everywhere.
I'll take some soup in with me that I made. And a roll. Nice and easy and quick.
The tea I'm drinking from the herbalist is making me feel weird. I used to make tea from foraged cleavers (sticky w1lly) but I'd end up having side effects with that too. Mainly I'd be so relaxed I'd be sleepy, and almost like a numb feeling where I felt heavy and couldn't move properly. Anyway. Great if in pain 😂 not so great if you're taking the tea for other things and during the day where you need to function..I've started feeling this way right after drinking the tea they've given me. So I've stopped drinking it during the day and debating drinking this right before sleep. I think it might help me sleep better. I'll try this out tonight, was a bit late to try it last night.
DP has been talking about budgets 😯 I know Many of us have struggled to get our OH's on board with helping with the budget or even being remotely interested. So I'm quite happy about this. I've already got the monthly bills down on paper and he's talking about goals....I just hope they align somewhat with mine 🤭🫣. He has mentioned holiday 👏🙌, getting married 💍, and doesn't yet seem remotely interested in Mortgage OPs or EF. Hmm. We haven't had a very in-depth chat yet though so we'll cross those bridges when we come to them 😂. I know he has CC debt as he's paid for a course he's taking next year on it in the hope it will kick start a new side line/ new career path. So I see that as positive debt but still, it needs paying for. So that's probably high on his list..he has a bonus due sometime next year and after tax it should be a few grand.. I'd kinda earmarked that as our holiday fund but he's got different plans and as it's his money I suppose I'll have to go with whatever he's got planned and we will find a different way to pay for the holiday 😃.... DIY seems to have fallen off the budget for both of us. We're both sick of it. However the gutters really really do need doing. So I might start to get some quotes in new year and figure out how to pay for that.
Right best get ready for work I guess. 5️⃣ Days left before I'm on holiday break 🌟.Emergency Fund- £717.772 -
I'm suspecting DP was wired after DD's driving!
I love that DP has goals and it's making me chuckle that they seem to be so very different to yours ....
You'll sort it out between you though, I'm sure
Re DIY / work on the house etc. we are deliberately classing tasks that we *will* do next year (e.g. repainting the front door and windows) as MAINTENANCE but not and DIY or improvements. That way it contains the scope of what we are aiming for. TBH, I think that will still be quite a bit, as some of it is quite neglected now ...

I think you're probably right @KajiKita 😂 DD has since apologised to DP for shouting at him and saying, you're not my instructor! Ummmm yes, my darling, he is. And he'd refused to take her out till she apologised. She wasn't going to do that without a prodding so I told her she needed to say sorry..so at least it looked like she was a bit sorry I guess seeing as though she went to see him after school. 🙈😂
I finished work early. Someone was particularly rude to me in the office which I didn't appreciate and was probably a bit short with her, thinking who the hell are you. Turns out she's a boss of some sort 🫠🤭 oh well she really did start it.
Anyway!!! News!! I have an interview. Got the invite as I was going to work this morning. Panic stations..I didn't have all weekend to prepare for it. I had the choice of Thursday or Friday and chose the Thursday because I'm in the right place. Also works out well I don't need to stress about it all Thursday too. Okay, so need to do last minute prep. I feel it's a bit lapse sending out so late, but I know there is no requirement to give more notice so it is what it is. I genuinely thought I wasn't getting one so haven't even done any more on prep for it than the initial look at the JD to write my PS. 😬🫠.
Okay and I'm being good, I am off to the gym. Well, swimming, I need to burn off some irritated energy from a day of being passed from pillar to post and that rude woman who upset me for no reason.
Oh, Got some more free parking tickets too 👏. A NSD so far, hopefully I can get a few of these as the week rolls on.
