Hmmm my phone decided to switch off half way through typing on here. i will try once more.
Car is still at the garage and needs to be MOT'd again I'm assuming? So not sure we will get it home tonight.
I realised my home insurance had lapsed -oops- so I have sorted that out today, I had money in my yearly funds so could pay for it in one payment. That account won't have much left in it soon as I have used it for DD insurance (learner one) our car insurance on the new car, home insurance and now the bill from the garage when we collect the car *rolls eyes* it has gone from having almost a grand in it to around 150 when all paid forobviously I am happy I had the pot with money in. But you know....sad when it gets emptied out so quickly.
Curry for dinner tonight. I already have a base from leftovers so will just add to it. Probably some potatoes and tomatoes as DD & friend are eating it too and I know what kids are like with weird vegetables in curry like courgette.we have already had a courgette today anyway with lunch
I have ironed everything that was done yesterday, clear front room again 😇 it won't stay that way though as DD and friend bought down a load of washing right before they went out. And right as I had literally just finished all the washing for the day. Hmmm. That is in the wash now.
I found my mop so have mopped skirtings, floors and porch as well as upstairs bathrooms and skirtings. The dust has got everywhere from plasterers, builders etc.
It is still raining, it is cold so I have made myself useful in the house doing some sewing on clothes that had holes or loose hems. I have also listed some items on v1nt3d and fb and sold one item within minutes, sadly only for a few quid but still...and one item has gone for free and one item might be picked up Monday. If it doesn't sell in a couple of weeks it is all off to the charity shop! Having a bit of a clear out though as I think I have too much stuff. AGAIN. oops.
Right will go finish tidying the washing up away and get started on dinner...it is a NSD in the fact that I only spent out on bills which I don't usually count as I have pots for those. So I am pretty impressed with how I am doing this week on containing spendsMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Right next month is a new income - less than what we had when ex stops maintenance. More on the mortgage, a new loan and also the car expenses.......So I have done an SOA.
Yearly bills are house insurance, car insurance(s), MOT, Service (our car has a warranty for I think three years but there is always an expense they don't cover like this time round £145!), prime membership, boiler service, green bin and chimney sweep as well as other things I have probably forgotten.Statement of Affairs and Personal Balance SheetHousehold InformationNumber of adults in household........... 2Number of children in household......... 1Number of cars owned.................... 2Monthly Income DetailsMonthly income after tax................ 975Partners monthly income after tax....... 2500Benefits................................ 90Other income............................ 0Total monthly income.................... 3565Monthly Expense DetailsMortgage................................ 973Secured/HP loan repayments.............. 0Rent.................................... 0Management charge (leasehold property).. 0Council tax............................. 147Electricity............................. 155Gas..................................... 0Oil..................................... 0Water rates............................. 60Telephone (land line)................... 0Mobile phone............................ 21TV Licence.............................. 0Satellite/Cable TV...................... 0Internet Services....................... 40Groceries etc. ......................... 500Clothing................................ 0Petrol/diesel........................... 100Road tax................................ 0Car Insurance........................... 0Car maintenance (including MOT)......... 0Car parking............................. 0Other travel............................ 0Childcare/nursery....................... 0Other child related expenses............ 0Medical (prescriptions, dentist etc).... 60Pet insurance/vet bills................. 0Buildings insurance..................... 0Contents insurance...................... 0Life assurance ......................... 0Other insurance......................... 70Presents (birthday, christmas etc)...... 150Haircuts................................ 0Entertainment........................... 0Holiday................................. 0Emergency fund.......................... 100Mortgage OP............................. 200Yearly Bills ........................... 300Total monthly expenses.................. 2876AssetsCash.................................... 0House value (Gross)..................... 300000Shares and bonds........................ 0Car(s).................................. 15000Other assets............................ 0Total Assets............................ 315000Secured & HP DebtsDescription....................Debt......Monthly...APRMortgage...................... 165000...(973)......4Total secured & HP debts...... 165000....-.........- Unsecured DebtsDescription....................Debt......Monthly...APRKitchen Loan...................6000......125.......0Total unsecured debts..........6000......125.......- Monthly Budget SummaryTotal monthly income.................... 3,565Expenses (including HP & secured debts). 2,876Available for debt repayments........... 689Monthly UNsecured debt repayments....... 125Amount left after debt repayments....... 564Personal Balance Sheet SummaryTotal assets (things you own)........... 315,000Total HP & Secured debt................. -165,000Total Unsecured debt.................... -6,000Net Assets.............................. 144,000Created using the SOA calculator at www.LemonFool.co.uk.Reproduced on Moneysavingexpert with permission, using other browser.
I have cut the food bill by £100. No pocket money is included in this as I wanted to see where we were at. But DD has a new job now so I don't think i will need to pay her any. DS will be ex's responsibility for these sort of things now. Kitchen loan is on 0%. Mortgage isn't quite right because there are 3 parts lowest is 2.4% highest is 4% or just over I think. Seems like we still have excess which is a relief because I was worrying we wouldn't have enough. I never put clothes budget in, nor haircuts it is something I have started paying for out of pocket money. Okay feeling ready for August now then.
Our EF will be depleted paying for everything but I will keep adding to it as often as I can. The Mortgage op is staying. And any extra I make from sales, surveys or cashback will be sent to the EF. I have built it up from nothing before so can so this againMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. My tomatoes are turning red! 🍅
My apples are all looking rotten or eaten though 🤔 and they're not even ripe yet. ..
Car was collected. I'm grateful we had the money in the yearly fund to pay for it. However the fund is pretty much depleted right now 😬 hopefully we can build it back up before the next big bill is due.
I'm meeting a friend today I totally forgot until she messaged me last night to remind me! It's pay day for us today but my new month doesn't actually start on my budget until the first 😏 people don't seem to understand this when they don't really budget. I have some cash in my purse though so I will use that.
I got rid of one thing free on local FB page yesterday. And I'm posting one thing today too. I'm going to aim for finding three things daily to list on FB or v1nted I think. Can feel a big declutter coming on 🫣 this is how I cope with life overwhelm. This is a far cry from how I used to deal with it though which was to buy more stuff for the instant dopamine hit 🙈. So I'll go with it lol.
I've dropped DD off to work, lawdy she is grumpy today. She is not impressed with having to host her friend for an entire week. This girl obviously needs downtime so I gave her some tips to make valid excuses for some alone time...bath, take friend to cinema or watch a movie (quiet time), say she is tired and just have some quiet downtime reading or doing whatever on her own. She is stressed that she hasn't been able to do her coursework. She was stressing about all the hours she is working this week (about 30 TBF which is a lot when she's never worked very much before). And when friend offered to do the washing up last night after I cooked I said oh yes please and made DD help her - that was the final straw for my spoilt DD. 🙂 I could literally see her snapping. Oops.
Welcome to adulthood my darling.
So tomorrow I have offered to drive them to Meadowhall to go shopping and grab some food and watch a movie or whatever they want to do. I will do my own thing - not sure what yet. I think some time out of the house will be helpful. DD has known her friend half her life it would be a shame to see them fall out because DD has a very small social battery. (As do I so I get It hence why I'm trying to mitigate a few issues,🙈).
My accounts are looking bare - I have got very good at ignoring my pay until the first 🙂🤣. In fact to make myself feel better I might move my wages around and fill the pots earlier than the first now I'm not using ynab. With ynab it would take that money being moved around as Money for this current month when it is actually for next month and everything would get confused. But I've reverted back to a trusty pen and paper and I will move it about now.
I've got another load of ironing to do thanks to DD and friend bringing down an entire f-ing wash as I was sitting down for the evening. I wasn't impressed. DP started doing his old man moans...he sounds just like a grumpy grandad when he does this moaning about electric and water and whatever else. However he was right. But it was a bit embarrassing so I was shushing him up whilst being a door mat and taking over and being all smiley and saying it's fine and doing yet another wash. Ugh.
I'm clearing and cleaning one area at a time in the house. The porch looks fresh and clean and decluttered. All shoes that don't fit are either binned (cos of holes and stuff) or listed for sale. The under stairs cupboard will get It in a mo as that's next on my list. I already deep decluttered my kitchen before my move last year but when the next kitchen is fitted I will do it again. We have a new induction hob and my pans were not suitable (hence why I bought some new ones on prime day) so I will declutter the current ones when we swap. I am also debating selling a dining sofa because I think a round table will fit our space better. 🤔 Will think some more on this.
Right tea is drunk. I've written too much as per. Hope everyone has a good day ☺️ 🙏🏻.MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. It would give them some alone time each if they each came down to do their own ironing? The washing is all caught up for now @daisy_1571 but she probably would do this as I came home from my cuppa with my friend and she'd tidied the kitchen and washed up bless her. Wondering if I can swap daughter's (just kidding 🤣).
As I left this morning with my parcel to meet my friend I noticed I'd sold another thing so packaged that up too. However, one was needing to go to one shop to be sent and the other one was in the opposite direction 🤔 so I did the one near the coffee shop I met my friend at and I will do the other on the way to collect DD from work. I didn't realise there were so many different places to send items from when bought on v1nted and for a few quid I'm not sure it is worth doing this long term 🤔. I will carry on for now though as not working and don't mind too much.
Not sure what to do for dinner later but I think leftovers for DP and I and maybe pizza and salad for the girls.
I've moved some money about this morning so the Xmas/birthday and yearly funds are looking okay again.
Groceries hasn't reset yet though so that is on single figures until the 1st 🤣🤔.
I do have a bit of cash in my purse so will use this for top ups if I can.

You can change your vinted settings so that you only send with certain couriers, I only do Royal mail, evri and inpost as in my small town i can send evri from the post office and there is 3 different inpost lockers all based at the supermarkets which are about a 2 minute walk from each other. You can change it if you go into settings, then postage, then drop off points and it should come up with a list of couriers.4
