Got all the ironing done, and got my hair cut. Decided to go even shorter than last time. The hairdresser was much better than the last one and for a tenner cheaper I won't be returning to the old hairdresser.
I've stuck kinda to my diet. Eating as clean as possible limited caffeine, sugar and low salt. Feeling better already.
DP and I walked a few miles this morning to start the day and stopped in the nice area round here and had a cuppa in a restaurant overlooking the sights. Was a lovely morning. We did a bit of gardening but it did look like rain at one point and went decidedly cold so we came in then didn't bother going back out when the sun reappeared. We realised it was already gone 4 so I started dinner instead.
DP is clearing the area behind the garage ready to lay concrete at some point for the greenhouse. And as he cleared some he called for me to look at something, he'd found a dead newt! I wasn't so sure it was dead so held it by the tail and it moved ever so slightly. I put It in the bird bath and it swam under a rock! So I spent over half hour finding a bucket, big stones, bricks and all sorts to make it a home and ways to climb out. I felt the bird bath was just asking for it to be eaten by the birds!
I popped it onto a brick immersed just slightly under the water in its new home and when I wasn't looking (I was) it swam under the water and away. I think DP ruined it's house so I felt I had to make another 🤣
Pic of little newt on its brick in its new home (bricks were what it was hiding in - ones with holes in). It can get out if it wants to as well. I was planning on doing a wildlife pond just not yet. 🤣 But they came before I built it rather than if you build it they will come lol.
Hopefully an easy slow weekend ahead and making the most of not doing too much before I have to go back to work on Tuesday. However I will then be on count down again to the next hols which won't be more than a month or so 😆.
Hope everyone is having a good Easter weekend so far.MORTGAGE BALANCE January 1st £118,267.06

Lol I was very excited too and ran round trying to find it bits it would like for its new home 😆 I hope it liked it and hasn't abandoned it. I will get a bigger bucket at some point and sink one into the ground and do it properly with some plants etc but for now if it wants a safe water source it has one. I know they live on land as well as water so put It near to rocks and stones and places to hide in shady part of the garden. Sadly it's home next to the water butt with all the old bricks and roof tiles has been taken away 😐...I hope it didn't have a family that we missed.
Saturday already, where has my holiday gone to. Hopefully the weather will hold out and we can have a nice weekend. I'm tempted to do a mini Easter egg hunt for the kids as they as re usually at their dad's house and they used to love doing them. I'll see how adventurous I feel later.
A walk this morning in the local park and then some housework and gardening. Not a lot planned unless we do something spontaneous.MORTGAGE BALANCE January 1st £118,267.06

I still do my gratitudes every night before bed, it's been a habit I formed very early on in learning meditation and law of attraction 🥰. Hope you have a lovely Easter too 😀.MORTGAGE BALANCE January 1st £118,267.06

So after a two mile walk earlier we came home and started on a few mini jobs in the kitchen to keep on top of chores. I made lunch too whilst DP was washing up. Then we started on the garden. I was weeding and he was still working on the base for the new greenhouse 😃.
Weeding. Ugh.
So anyway whilst attempting to weed (when it's coming in from all neighbours - two at the back and either side as well) I managed to fill an entire wheelbarrow full of ground elder, and bindweed. And trust me I could fill ten more at least. I was trying to get as many out without damaging the plants popping up everywhere. The garden has been seriously neglected 🫣. I found some plants growing though that I didn't recognise so snapped pics and reverse image searched them all. I think some may be wrong so I will revisit and review as to whether they stay or go when they grow bigger but for now this is what the internet tells me I've found-Small white flowers- thale cress
By fence -Fumaria
Growing right side and out of pots
-honeysuckle x2
Ivy? Looks like squash family to me
Clumps- great wood rush (orange flowers)
Ribes?
Wood avens?
Hellebore
Roses (must be off shoots?)
Snowberry/spirea
Aquilegia x many
Maple tree
Conker tree x many
And lots of poppies 😁 I'm glad I waited to see what came up. Thanks to little squirrels helping me garden I have around a dozen conker trees that have sprouted if anyone wants one 🤣 I've found them in my strawberries, pots, established beds and a few in the grass. All easy to pop out though and I've re-potted them all into a huge pot that was empty with compost in. We have aquilegia popping up EVERYWHERE. Even in the patio and garage. I'm sure I've bought this before though and it's pretty so I've left that. We're after a country cottage style garden anyway so that fits ok. I've lots of seeds too but not sure when to scatter them about. I have empty beds waiting for them...
We're both exhausted now though. So we've decided to get a takeaway. We offered kids curry or pizza and they wanted pizza so we're cooking theirs 🤫. The Indian was £8 off a £25 spend so cost us £25 altogether including delivery and service fees on just eat. We deserve it for sure we are shattered 😆.
I have lots of creme eggs I bought last week so I will do a mini Easter egg hunt in the morning. I'll wait until then to see if dry and then hide them. Kids are never up before us anyway so I'll have time then. If it is wet I'll do it inside and in the car port/ garage as you can access those from the side door.
Would have been a nsd but we folded on the convenience. Money is coming from DP FB sale though so not from budget.
I've received lots of herbal supplements today so will start on my detox plan (I was careful what I ordered in take away from too so it's not too bad for me, Indian usually is fine with me).
Right off to bath and chill in front of the TV with some sort of 80s movie (if it's not a genre it should be).

Wow nearly 5pm already. We've had a nice Easter. DP had already hidden all the eggs around the house and garden when I'd woken this morning and listed where they were. I cheated and went on chat Gtp. And asked for some clues. I was pretty impressed and although I'm good at writing them it would have taken me longer than the minute it took the bot. So we used those. Hid those with eggs and gave the first one to the kids who I woke up as soon as I'd finished..DD seemed more impressed and was having fun with it. DS was in his usual grumpy self although lightened a bit when he realised there were edible treats with every clue. They spent about half hour doing that and then we offered for them to come out with us but both declined. I think they both took chocolate back to bed to watch TV. We went out and had a nice afternoon instead wandering around antique shops. And spent a little but left a lot there that we coveted 😉. Home to the garden and warm sunshine. DP is working on the base for the greenhouse now. Mini veg roast for dinner later. I'm sat soaking up the sun for now. Happy Easter all!MORTGAGE BALANCE January 1st £118,267.06

Wow it's the last day of the holidays, time went fast! However, I do feel rested and chilled and ready to get on with the last few weeks of term. Hopefully it won't be as painful as my first few months. When I'm back I will be due for the six months probation meeting I guess, where I should be signed off as competent or whatever happens there. No pay rise but I guess my pay rises with the min wage going up. So I'll wait to see how much it equates to in real time each month.
DP on the other hand started his job just before me and they're talking about the next band of pay upwards for him as they need a manager and he's primed for position I think with what he knows. He came in from trade whereas a lot of the other people doing his job just look at numbers all day, he gets the overall picture very easily and can see where things are missing. I'm not going to get excited though and I think he shouldn't either until something is set in stone for that. But it's nice they recognise his worth so early on.
I'm aching all over and need to get things ready for school/ work/ orthodontist appointment x 2 next week so need to organise it all today and tell kids where and when they need to be and who's taking them etc. will also see how long I can eek out food for. I'm hoping until Wednesday when it's my day off so I can go shopping then. I think today is a day of eating up leftovers as the fridge is full of random pots of things.
I STILL need to get on my Isa and sort out where my money is being moved to as it's due to mature in three days now! I can't believe I've not done it yet. Once that's done I think my brain is empty of big outstanding jobs 😂. So should really get on and do it. I get emails every day reminding me and I still forget by evening!
Getting lots of crops of rhubarb from the garden and also herbs too. The fruit bushes are hit and miss as to how much they're growing. Some have grown a foot and a half since I planted them. Others look like twigs 🫣 perhaps they are slow growers? I've some bits I should get started in the house really to go in the greenhouse but I just haven't got round to it. I think this year will be very easy crops anyway of lettuce and stuff..things easy and quick to grow and can get started any time of the year and not too hard for me. We eat lettuce in nearly every meal as a side salad so that's a good start right?. 😂🫣....
Okay off to get my day started!MORTGAGE BALANCE January 1st £118,267.06

I've had a nightmare trying to make a withdrawal on the right day from the Isa it said it would charge me £220 or something silly. Even though I was trying to make it for the day after maturity. I've ended up letting the Isa go to another v1rgin account they will set up for me with easy access so no penalties. 🙄 Not what I was wanting but it will have to do.
Ex has promised £200 when I asked for £240 this morning for ski trip. I said can you push to £240 then we've paid equal. But no response now. I ask and he always has to offer under whatever I'm asking so he has control he does my nut in. It's all a game of control I know that. If he pays the £200 that will help me anyway so let's hope he does that. Again won't hold my breath till it's there.MORTGAGE BALANCE January 1st £118,267.06
