Always so disappointing to eat out around ones allergies to find nothing good on the menu !

That’s a huge result on your son showering at the gym !
I always do so now and it is saving me loads of water

    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

if you have velux windows have a look at their website for blinds.  Omg they are fantastic.   We have always had problems with the amount of light leaking in around curtains but in this house with the blackout versions we can get the bedrooms almost dark room dark and we sleep so much better.   We changed ones that the person before us had (simply to get better for us colours) - so simple to take off the old ones and replace.   Plus we had a couple of awkwardly high ones so got the solar powered ones for them.  Genius idea.   A very slim bar at the bottom has the battery and solar panel.  It pulls the blind down or pushes the blind up.  Soooo amazing to be able to use them on windows I  previously had to get a ladder out to occasionally pull down the roller blind.

We had velux in the last house but this window is a very old wooden framed made especially to fit here window and we couldn't find a ready made blind to fit it. It needs replacing eventually along with the other loft window and I think we'll get a proper blind then. We had one right above our bed in the last house and we were never woken by street lights or sun! We both miss that a lot 🙈

It really is disappointing. I tried not to show it though as I wasn't paying 🙈 it did remind me of why we moved away from farmer ville though. As pretty as the villages are, there's nothing going on and very narrow old fashioned thinking and usually when we find something on the menu we find it hasn't been in the kitchen in months if not years as no one ever asks for it 🙄. We don't feel quite so much like aliens in the city!

  • DP is in the middle of a sales pitch for a FB MP sale 🙄😆 so I'm hiding in the living room. I want to start the ironing but they're kinda in the way. I'll wait...
I picked my first rhubarb today! I saw @ladybird1106 had picked some so I had to g00gle to see when mine was ready 🫣 I've never grown it before in my defence of looking stupid, and it was ready! So I got three big stalks off and will compote them later with some apples 😃 the rhubarb and apple trees and pear trees were one of the reasons I wanted this house...I could see all the love in the garden that had been neglected over the years...and the rhubarb we found three huge plants of it under a tonne of bindweed and bramble! So exciting 😁.

Dinner later will be diced Herby sweet potatoes and steamed broccoli with probably some  airfryed or baked tofu. And we'll have the rhubarb compote for pudding.
I'm going out of my way making puddings this week as I'm finding if I make a healthyish pud I'm not craving sugar or carp food by 7/8pm. Right I think they're wrapping up... better get the ironing done before I get hair cut!

My nan had an orchard which she planted when they bought the land for the house.  It was lovely and had all sorts of fruit.  I used to love going round and picking it and then making an apple crumble with her for dinner that night, or picking the pears for snack at school that day.  I'd love some fruit trees and to have space to grown some of my own food.  One day :)

Have you tried rooibos or red bush tea? It’s caffeine free and I take it with (oat) milk so it’s like a ‘proper’ cup of tea. I always have that now and very rarely have black tea now, just the odd Lady Grey now and again.

Very glad that the headaches are easing!

Love that you can see the bones of the previous garden emerging and that you are already cropping rhubarb. I think mine is nearly ready so am eyeing it up for a crumble with ground almonds in the topping this weekend 😊

The five tees I've just planted were my friends ones she gave me. She had a tiny courtyard in her house and they'd all grown pretty well in pots 😀 always an idea if space is limited 🌳

I used to drink rooibos years ago...I might give it another go. Thanks for reminding me.
No headache today or yesterday! Definitely those tablets. I've weaned myself off them now so won't be taking any more. Absolutely not worth the headaches.
