Blimey not what you need right now. Fingers crossed there is a simple solution even if temporary for the moment.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

He's left that job for another day. He seems to think it's been going on a while. He's done a temporary fix for the moment but not the big job of swapping bits over for new non corroded pipes and stop cocks.
Instead he's been bitten by the DIY bug and I've left him to it. When he's in the mood he cracks on and loads gets done if I stay out the way 😆. We've so far had ALL furniture including the big brown sideboard moved to their final resting homes (until I change my mind again?? 😁🤣) he's put up new mirrors and pictures that fit better and look better. I've done the prettying part making it look homely and then DD asked me if I'd like a walk (loving this new version of DD she's so much more sociable and wanting to do stuff. ) so we had a walk around a graveyard. Used to be my favourite peaceful place with FLD to walk. So was nice to return there. We went round the old graves and read all the ones we could. DD was picking up rubbish as she saw it and returning it to bins 🥰 made me realise I've now got two out three children who have grown into respectful respectable kind people....just DS to get through the angry teen stage now 🙄😆. We tallied up how many Mary's we could count and Williams. There seemed to be an abundance of them, some graves were like 1600s so we didn't feel too disrespectful wandering around that part reading them all I did say to her to always avoid people visiting their loved ones and the newer areas.
Back home, DP had started to put shelves up 👏🏻👏🏻😯 we have three so far!! Yay! My books and ornaments have all been in banana boxes since we moved in. I can't wait to get them all up properly. Need to paint the shelves first though (free wood from DD built in wardrobe has made these 👏🏻).
We've rearranged the conservatory so it's actually looking like part of the house and not the store room now. And all my pantry food is in the wardrobe 👏🏻 one drawer is still in DD room so needs to come down...but I've put plants all over the top to make it feel very lush and green as we look out towards the garden!
I'm warmed up and about to make dinner. A good day in all. And although I'm exhausted from a long walk, shopping, moving furniture it's been a productive one.

Thank you KK, MFW, beanie & CrazyB.... We are exhausted and only just sat down but we feel like we've overcome some sort of barrier this weekend. This is the first time the house, downstairs anyway, has felt like our home. Before we couldn't place furniture right and it was frustrating and energy was blocked and we were both feeling regretful about moving from a done up house. I think mixing up dining and living furniture was key and just playing around with it all. Every bit of furniture has been moved at least once since moving in. Some about four times 🙈. It feels right now though so I'd like to say it will stay. But I know what I'm like 😆....
For the first time in ages I have my candles on, plants everywhere, books out and crystals and it feels peaceful and like home.
Movie and snacks time now. And I've got lots of water to drink. I'm in calorie and water deficit having worked through breakfast and snacks times 🤣.
MSE DIY though all wood for shelves and brackets was salvaged from the old wardrobe in DD room! We've spent nothing and have enough for five shelves (DP put three up before the drill died for the evening)! Just need to buy a few more bits to finish the other shelves in the alcove but they can wait until payday. 👏🏻😁♥️

Well done
I'm still circulating furniture to get things right. I think it takes time. I've just been emptying a couple of bedrooms, the bathroom, hall, and airing cupboard, ready for the electricians tomorrow, and trying to make sure the rest of the house doesn't feel like I'm camping - and I've already found some things that work better.2 -

I have three pieces of furniture up for sale. Hoping at least one sells. the other two...well I quite like them and have decided that if they're meant to be mine they won't sell
I have woken up this morning with tired and burning eyes, and my chest feels tight and sore and I am full of phlegm. Not nice. I really really need a break and if I don't take one soon I think my body will force me to stop. My day off is Wednesday so only two working days. However, I have figured out DD & I need to leave at 8am latest on Weds to get to her orthodontist appointment. It is the planning session. Anyone know how long these take? I am hoping not all day like the last appointment was. I would like some of my day off to myself. This weekend I have booked out for R&R. Eat, TV, reading, resting.
I have cashed out £9 something from Pr0lific. And the £5 from the other survey site had landed in my PP too so £14.27 sent over to my bank this morning. I have sent it straight to a small MOP. Need another £25 to stay on my target of a £100 per month. Will keep trying surveys but might have more luck trying to save money in the budget somewhere for that money, surveys seem thin on the ground for me this month.
I have checked my 0v0 app today and well.....would you believe the day I got the phone call about my complaint the bill halved?! We hadn't made any changes at home at this point?! It went from £10 per day to £5 per day. Then from Saturday when DP changed all light fittings it went to £3 something a day over the weekend- WHEN we are ALL home and computers, tv, radio etc and cooking, washing EVERYTHING is on?! I just do not understand it at all.
Hoping for a NSD today and tomorrow. I don't think we need anything. I am taking the car to work today, DP is on conference calls all day. It is too cold for the walk in as my chest is hurting. I have taken some mullein leaf and used my salt inhaler this morning so that's helped loosen it. I have also taken vit D and echinacea. But I will drive in and park nearest I can for free and then walk the last 10 minutes. I can't wait for summer - spring even- for some warm air, walking to work, some sun and lighter evenings. I firmly think we all need the 6 week break over winter months like we get in summer. I vote for hibernation to become a thing.I could happily sleep for a week right now.
DD has offered to cook dinner tonight - I told her the options she could make. She seemed keen on the sausages, chips and pea (she doesn't like beans so therefore we won't get them either) I will take whatever if it means I don't have to do it :j:joy:
I started reading my book last night and didn't even get to the end of the chapter before I had to put it down, was too tired. I am aiming for reading a book a month. I used to be the sort of person who would read three books a week. Then I did my degree as a mature student and with 3 kids and almost traumatised myself from reading TOO muchand didn't pick up a book for years. I kid you not. I would love to get back to the old me, I loved getting lost in stories on paper......but I feel like I need to ease myself back in. So this year I would like to read 12 books minimum. The one I am on currently is a hardback and is a chunky one but I am 3/4 of the way through! I already have lots of books unread piling up so this should be a nice easy cheap goal to do.
