Thanks Beanie & Crazy bee. I'm feeling better today and have regained my peace. I hate it when something triggering happens and peace is lost. I've worked too hard for my peace that I will let it be gone for too long though.
I dreamt last night of wallpapering and doing budgets 🤣😳
Anyway speaking of budgets I've messaged ex H to see if he is going to actually pay up for his half of the ski trip deposit. So far zilch. But he did promise it. He said he will pay in a message just now but not when 🙄 suppose we are half way there with that.... Be nice to have the money back in the budget as we overspent on the DIY really.
The take away was nice last night however I chose a dish I didn't recognise in the name of trying new things each month....and it had no chillies next to it. But by 'eck was it hot!! My mouth was on fire and then my tummy was aching all night!! 🤣🙄😳 I searched for the main ingredients this morning and the main one (aside from usual cumin, turmeric etc) was ginger.....I've always been a bit funny with ginger. I love the taste but my body doesn't like much of it. And well, needless to say I probably won't have that one again 🤣😳. Was still nice to try something new though.
Anyway....de-christmas must start. I will report back once done with hopefully some plans for next week. We are a third of the way through Jan though 👏🏻 yay! Hate Jan....too cold. Ooh, I hadn’t noticed we are already a third of the way through January! Thank you for that thought 😊
I find with ginger that I can enjoy it in the colder months but if I eat it in the summer I combust and have a meltdown! 🥵😂
Well done for nudging Ex on ski trip contribution and enjoy the dechristmassing 😊

No money from the ex. Am I surprised? I think we can assume not. I have known this man since he was almost a boy 🙄 he doesn't change. He still acts like a boy and is useless with money.
Anyway he said he'd give it to me next month. I am glad I didn't put It into my budget.
Four Christmas trees are down.
There is glitter, tinsel bits and tree bits everywhere. EVERY WHERE including all over me. Also boxes everywhere.
Mission cut down energy bill is in full effort too. All spotlights in the dining room and kitchen disconnected and two cheap white dangly ones put up. Same for our room. Let's see if this helps.
I foresee cleaning ALL afternoon ahead of me. And I am also debating moving our lounge back into the front of the house 🤣😳🙄🙈 much to DP misery I think of moving furniture around. But it is south facing. Bright, and warm and the radiator is working better than the silly little one in the dining room -60cm wide we have in a room that is 20ft wide and 13 ft long- 🤦🏻♀️
Dinner probably will be something we already have in. I spent so much last week I could easily just spend another £30 today and make lots of meals still. We are low on coffee, fresh and milk though too. So might make a very specific list and go shopping. I have Mr L vouchers for free stuff that needs using today so have to go at some point.
I spoke to the other new starter about what happened yesterday and she said she is thinking about applying for jobs at the council. The pay is better as is the pension...I didn't think she'd last long she didn't seem to be enjoying it much. And she's heard a few stories this last week of tutors and other staff members getting upset at work. Not good....is it really worth the pay we get? Hmm. I will see what other jobs are going but aside from my Fridays I don't mind the job. But the Friday is becoming a bit of a bugbear now....I think I will speak to the office about it. And see if I can get moved.
Right break over. Best get back to cleaning everything away.MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. The one who started the trouble yesterday is on last warning already. It isn't his first rodeo at speaking to staff that way.
Christmas trees All done 👏🏻 all packed away. And we've moved living area back in to the snug at the front of the house. We stopped half way through the move though as we were exhausted. We'll finish it tomorrow.
I've put one bit of furniture up for sale. As much as we move it all around we cannot make it fit 🤔😐 we have to start again sadly. So I will list a few more bits tomorrow. Hopefully they will sell and hopefully they will make enough for us to replace with other bits. We have ordered a TV unit already. The money was borrowed from the food budget 👀😏 soooo I need to cut back on food spends. And try to cut costs wherever else we can. If I sell the furniture then obviously it will go back into the budget. We've managed to make the sofas fit. The most expensive pieces of furniture. We had a three and two seater recliner and also a two seater pretty pink sofa ...we have split the recliners up now. One in the snug (smaller one) and one in the conservatory. The pink sofa is going into the snug as it's smaller and fits perfectly. Then we've ordered the TV unit as nothing we had was suitable. We found one for £185 that we both like from jy5k. I'm determined to make this work and for us to stop having to swap rooms and furniture around trying to be make it all fit 🤣 we've given up and accepted what we bought for the old house will not fit in here. House shapes are both different.
Food spends in Mr L around £22. Got our free biscuits, fruit, and conditioner.
Tomorrow we have to finish moving stuff around...or I might suggest to DP that we just wait now until the new unit arrives as it can take two weeks. Everything fits ok at the moment (we have a very large brown mid century sideboard in the snug at the moment which is what I want to swap out for the small TV unit which is half the size) so might leave as is. I've filled the bay window with plants too so we can't see the road and it's all very peaceful now.
I have a few dinners I can do before we run out of food. Cottage pie, dhal, pasta and I'll find one other so I can do my food shop on weds.MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. Okay onto moving the last bit of furniture around today. The large brown sideboard is actually over two metres long no wonder I was struggling to fit it in anywhere. We have to find a home for it otherwise I've got to think about selling it. It's one of those pieces that sparks joy for DP and I though so I really want to find it a home where it fits perfectly. I'll keep moving it around.
The conservatory is watertight now. We had horrendous downpours last week and not a drop on the floor so DP must have fixed it well enough. So we can now use this for furniture.
DS2 came up to our room last night - mum mum there's water pouring through the ceiling. It was a drip. But a drip is bad enough. Above that is the loft area with pipes running through it from the bathroom next to DS up and over his ceiling and through the loft into our ensuite. All the pipework has corroded as had the tap in there 😳 so that is needing to be fixed asap. DP thinks it's probably been leaking since we moved in. And has just got to the stage where the plaster has soaked so much it's starting to drip through. Of course, DS room has a wallpapered ceiling, so we can not see just how bad the damage is. I'll leave that one to DP and see if he can sort it.
I need to go to Mr T. Need herbal tea, sausages and butter. And maybe a few other bits I can't remember now ....
On with the furniture moving first. And I'll report back if we are ceiling-less later on. As DP needs to replace bits of pipes and is worried about water in them already and where that will go as he does it.
Buying houses that need doing up is so fun. 🤣🤦🏻♀️MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Oh gawd, not a great start to a Sunday morning! 😔😭😵💫
Let's hope your dp can get it sorted today and it's relatively simple.
