Okay YNAB is all present and correct (that makes a flipping change 😆). One thing I must must must remember to do next month....not start transferring monies about until after the first of Feb!!! It's thrown everything on the YNAB and confused the heck out of me.
I've topped up the grocery fund so this month's budget is £680. I would have been stressing all month over it otherwise. And some things just aren't worth it. I'm grateful I kept back £90 as a buffer when doing my budget this month so could absorb the extra £80 fine.
DD is still loving her new room 🥰 think she's in love with all the hanging space more than anything. Oh to be a teenage girl again 😆....

Spent a couple of hours at the antique centre. It was 🥶🥶 actually freezing in some rooms. DP wanted soup but I said no let's go home instead and get the soup maker out.
Where the soup maker then decided to trip all electric sockets half a dozen times before I gave in and put ingredients into the bulk cooking pan. It then took three times longer to cook because the pan had to heat up 😂 we have only just eaten it and dinner is on already...so I did small portions for three of us, DD turned her nose up at it. And called it a starter instead of lunch 🤣 think I saved it with that one.
We achieved a NSD anyway so that was good. And the soup maker- which was gifted to me anyway- we think we might be able to save. We believe it is because some water hadn't dried properly in the element and therefore was tripping it. So I will try it once more before chucking. Soup was good anyway (my version of a tomato soup) and I blended it in the food processor. So much washing up from what was supposed to be a quick and easy lunch.
Dinner is a nut roast I found in the freezer leftovers from my Xmas shop. I opened the box and omg it was mostly packaging -what a waste of money! Anyway we should have a mouthful each of that. So thank god I made soup 🤣. I have enough soup left for my lunch at work tomorrow too which is good so one lunch done. Enough for DP to reheat some as well here at home. DD has a pot noodle and I will do DS one in a bit so we're all ready to go in the morning. Bulk cooking has kinda fallen to the way side. I think I will attempt it on my day off on Wednesday instead and eat what is on the meal plan until then that didn't require me to make it in bulk.
The kids refused to get out of bed this morning when I tried to wake them earlier than usual (still 10am!) and all I could hear was cries of, it's still holiday time go away I'm tired .... Ugh. That will be fun in the morning. I am going to see if DP can switch the internet off at bedtime so at least DS will get off his computer earlier than last night.
Been really good with my food intake today I haven't been craving rubbish foods at all. I've had two pieces of fruit for breakfast. Onions, tomato, pepper, carrots with lentils and bulgar wheat were all in the soup and we have a processed nut roast which will literally be a forkful each and the rest of the dinner is roasted or steamed veg 😇 going to polish my halo now 😁MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. I am like you and wondering how I am going to get myself and the children out of bed on time this week. They are lucky as not in tomorrow, unlike me. It is going to be tough - good luckMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

First day back at work. DP had a library book that needed returning so I said I'd do it beforehand. I was first getting dropped off at 10 minutes before I start work then half hour before because he had a last minute teams meeting and then as we were driving here they cancelled it ... anyway I'm in the library it's nice and warm so I'll stay here for a bit.
The snow / rain was non stop last night so I offered the kids a lift most of the way to school they just had to walk down the stairs beside the school. Much to DS dismay as he tells me that his soles are all slippy and have no grip 🙄 if he'd told me that before......
Already been told this morning I have to buy DD some bits for school. So will work it into the budget later. Also I was emailed an updated version of my work timetable. I think I said before I'd been sent it along with everyone else on the team to double check and I had been working and extra hour that I wasn't paid for since starting. I emailed back to say it was wrong and had an email this morning with the extra hour still on there. I said in my email that if there is funding I'm happy to carry on working it as I've already done it so far. So I'm assuming from the updated version that I'm going to get paid now as the timetable is the same but it's changed from 24 hours to 25 per week. I guess I will see on pay day. I'll keep my eyes open to check it and if I pop Into the office before payday I will double check if there is anyone there to ask. Will be handy to get the extra pay anyway.
It's wet and miserable and dark and gloomy here and yet when you're inside it's quite nice looking out on it. Very cold when out and about though 🥶.
My skin is super dry from the heating too. Think I need a new moisturiser now my hormones have changed... something hydrating but not greasy as my skin is naturally quite acne prone if I use the wrong type of moisturiser. Will have to look later see what I can find.
