  • Thanks @dawnybabes and @beanielou I'm not a pro but I think we do an alright DIY version of the professionals 🤣

I've come to the end of my energy. I've already put one coat of paint over the primer this morning and need to do a few more bits on painting. Just snagging jobs now that we've noticed need a bit more. DP is working away up there whilst I've come down to make a sausage sarnie. And make another cuppa to keep us going. He's doing the inside of the wardrobe. I'll share a pic when done but be warned it's as far from professional as can be. We have instead saved some money and salvaged bits of wood from wardrobe and also the wardrobe we pulled out to make it good. I wanted it practical more than anything and I will buy a cafe rod and curtain (voile) to hang on the inside to cover it. I'll let DD choose one now as I can't afford any more this month. I've already spent into other pots and need to stop somewhere. She also needs a kallax unit from IKEA. I have put alerts on FB for one ...have missed two already! I literally messaged right after one went up and still missed it. Will keep trying but might just have to buy new next month. The outside of the wardrobe looks great now- I really hope she likes it.

I am full of cold (detoxifying after all the paint, caulk, plaster and sugar soap all over me no doubt). I will get my supplements out later and take some. Need to get better with doing that as I always feel lacking in something or other this time of year. Also I feel like I'm neglecting myself in favour of always trying to please others. Can't give from an empty cup though can I.

Talking of which, Over the last few weeks I've had a couple of people messaging me or adding me on FB. These are people I cut off around three years ago because I felt our relationship had turned toxic, draining and not good for me. One has added me on FB (my father) the other tried to ring me on messenger (!!) after three years of no contact -both no contacts were my doing I sent her a letter when she refused to listen to me in person and said I need to set a boundary. And that boundary was then broken three times very quickly and I had to for my own sanity cut her off. However I am too soft hearted and forgiving and now she has sent me an apology I'm feeling like I should just go back to how things were 🤦🏻‍♀️😆 so instead I will step away from messenger for a while and think hard about this. We were very good friends but my kindness was taken advantage of many many many times over and it became a one sided friendship very quickly. And my father is a long complicated story/ list of abuse and slight Stockholm syndrome on my part - my two sisters both cut him off decades ago.

Anyway, all this is making me feel sad, nostalgic and a bit weepy. I hate falling out with people and it took a lot for me to cut my father off and one of my best friends one after the other but my mental health required me to do so. I'm feeling slightly triggered in a few ways and not sure how to handle it.

So anyway back to boring 3D world I have put a hot wash on with towels and mop head. I've washed DD bedding and will go up and make her bed in a mo. I want her room done.

I've spent some pocket money on big river shop app and bought myself a book (easy chick flick read ) and a clarifying shampoo (I have dropped so much plaster and crap into my hair the last week it feels awful even after a wash/brush). Tomorrow will be a day for ME. I know the kids are fresh home but I go back to work on Monday and haven't even done the meal plan for Jan. No food in. No down time. It's no wonder I feel weepy sad and reflective and down. Need to pamper myself a little and be kind to myself 🥰.
I will take a few pics when everything is done and show you all. We're proud of what we've achieved the room is totally unrecognisable from when we bought it. ❤️

I worry about you now after what you have said, I am afraid a leopard never changes its spots, I think it would be best to say say Hi thank you and glad your okay, but be sharp and say I have too much on for any more relations right now. If it were me I would just not call/ email/ write...you are the number one and you need to treat yourself that way, bad relationships don't suddenly change into good relationships with toxic people.

They probably thought they had left enough time...I would steer clear of these relationships, it seems harsh but you need to do it for your future self. It will help them to make changes within themselves, but you can't risk going back into that toxic environment, don't contact them for you. obviously it is up to you and we will all support you...but really think about the power you give yourself by moving on without toxic relationships. For me it feels empowering knowing that I won't go back to those horrid ways.

    All the best CrazyBeeXX

I am another who thinks that you shouldn't get back in touch.  I doubt that they have changed.  Possibly after something and think you will give in.

Have you missed them and all their drama they come with, or have you been happy and content with new friends?  I know I don't have time or head space for that type of person anymore.

Family is different and that one is up to you.

    Amazeballs! 👌💞💜💯😍🎉💐
I think it looks fabulous. She would have to be crazy not to love it. That walkin wardrobe idea was inspired, looks so good and natural.
And you have both worked so hard to get it done.
I do hope you get a bit of time to rage it easy over the weekend before you go back to work!

Ah thanks FP ☺️ DP is out now gone to Mr T. I've ordered G&T crisps and JP dinner nice and easy to make with a big salad. And movies all afternoon now. This is the earliest we've managed to finish ALL week. We worked out how many many hours we put in and it was over 170 hours on her room between us 😯🫠 no wonder we are so ruddy tired! 💞
